I had the pleasure of spending three fantastic tours with the best guide I have ever met on several private tours with my husband! Laura MacKenzie, you made our 41st anniversary Holiday trip the most memorable ever. From Loch Lomond to Glencoe, our first Neeps, Haggis, and Tatties, Inverness, Isle of Skye, Eilean Donan, Turf houses, the Clava Cairns, Culloden Battlefield, and so much more, we traveled back in time and saw your beautiful country and experienced your culture together. Thank you for listening to our stories and interests, sharing the best of Scotland's culture and history, and putting what we saw into context. Your charming, warm, and caring personality and wonderful sense of humor were exactly what we needed.
Hard to know where to begin. We had the most fantastic guide Lauren Mackenzie. Lauren’s knowledge, care and just absolute willingness to go above and beyond was unmatched. We are very experienced travelers and I would rate this experience as one of the best my family has ever had. We absolutely loved learning about the Scottish culture and were amazed by the depth of knowledge Lauren displayed. It was so great to have her lead us through this amazing land. The scenery and sights were incredible. Along our travels we bumped into another family who used Lauren the week prior, they echoed our exact satisfaction and also said “she’s the best!” Well done all the way around!
We had a great time on our private tour of the highlands. The Mercedes van was a nice luxury, it was comfortable, spacious, and immaculate. Barney was our guide and he was wonderful. We told him what we wanted to see and he came up with an itinerary that hit all of our spots and more. He was very knowledgeable and shared so much information and history with us, and told it in a way that was interesting and fun. He's a very talented narrator and storyteller! He answered all our questions and kept us laughing too. We saw some amazing sights and had a great tour, but Barney really made it exceptional.
Incredible tour that I cannot recommend enough! Our tour guide, Nick, was very accommodating, insightful, and funny which only added to the amazing views. Seeing the various stunning parts of the Highlands and learning the vast history was an unforgettable experience that brought the landscape to life in a truly meaningful way. Every stop felt thoughtfully chosen, and Nick’s storytelling made the journey both educational and deeply engaging. Additionally, Experienced Tours helped plan my proposal by recommending a beautiful location and coordinating with Nick, our guide, for photos. Both Nick and Experienced Tours truly went above and beyond! When I go back to Scotland, I will do another tour through Experienced Tours. From start to finish they made the entire process seamless and enjoyable, with excellent communication, personalized touches, and top-notch service that made the trip truly special!
I highly recommend this company for any of their excursions. Our driver, Cali, was waiting outside our hotel door just before pickup time at 9:00 a.m. He was an excellent driver, and very friendly. Lots of information through narrative and we were very comfortable with his driving skills and knowledge of the history of his country. We were fast friends right from the start. He knew all the right places to show us and we had plenty of stops. We had lunch at Loch Ness and ice cream in Pitlochry. Nothing was rushed and he knew all the back roads to avoid any traffic and crowds. The beautiful Mercedes van was well appointed with a cute little refrigerator loaded with drinks and snacks. It sure didn't hurt that we had gorgeous weather. Warm and sunny. This afforded us some great views that are often shrouded in rain or fog. Cali dropped us off at about 8 pm And we were sorry the day was over. If we can get back to Scotland, we will definitely use Experienced Tours again.
Where do we even begin to describe this incredible tour experience with Calais?!?!?! My husband and I took our young teen grandson to the UK as a special gift. Calais met us at the airport in the wee hours and because our grandson is a huge Harry Potter fan, he took us through Edinburgh to see the sights and take pictures. He even gave us a surprise drive through the suburbs to see some unique and beautiful homes. From there we travelled to the Highlands. The weather was cold and a bit damp but we had a beautiful, roomy elegant van to travel in. Calais has a vast knowledge of Scotland, has a wonderful, witty, happy personality. He made our grandson feel like a peer and he took us to places that were absolutely stunning. We had a gorgeous walk in the woods and viewed waterfalls, he explained the importance of the natural landscape in Scotland’s history; we took a boat ride and went to castle ruins. We stayed at a lovely hotel at River Ness. We fell in love with Inverness and it’s charms. Everything from soup to nuts was taken care of for us. We will most certainly be returning again with family and friends. THANK YOU!
I've been on multiple trips with Experienced Tours whenever family visits from the states and each one has been excellent. This time, we went through the Highlands with our guide Calais who - despite the Scottish weather in December - showed us some of the wonderful sights in the Highlands.
I can't say enough good things about our tour experience and, more importantly, our guide Alexander (Sandy). He was top notch. Immediately made us feel at home. He was down to earth, funny and SO knowledgeable. We learned so much about the history of Scotland as well as all of the areas we were fortunate enough to witness. If you're reading this review trying to decide if you want to book this tour, you absolutely should! I highly recommended his tour and would suggest requesting Sandy as your guide. You won't be disappointed.
This tour was AMAZING! Michael our tour guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. He made our trip very enjoyable and gave us information that was so interesting about the history of Scotland. Anyone interested in learning about Scotland, trying to find Nessie or just wanting to take in the view needs to take this tour with him!
Whole experience was great. Michael was an excellent tour guide. He kept the day entertaining and stopped at great points for views and information. The vehicle was comfortable for the whole family as well. Glen Coe was the highlight, but the kids also liked getting their photos at Loch Ness. All in all, our expectations were exceeded for the day.
