Entdecken Sie die historische Stadt Sintra, ein UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe, bei einem Tagesausflug von Lissabon aus. Sintra ist eine Stadt, die etwa 35 km von Lissabon entfernt liegt. Es ist ein magischer Ort mit Burgen und Palästen und einem atemberaubenden historischen Stadtzentrum. Es gibt verrückte Aussichten und auch besondere Strände. Die UNESCO erklärte die Kulturlandschaft von Sintra 1995 zum Weltkulturerbe.
Quinta da Regaleira ist ein Ort zum Fühlen. Es reicht nicht, Ihnen von seiner Geschichte, seiner Landschaft und seinen Geheimnissen zu erzählen. Man muss ihn kennenlernen, die Szenografie der Gärten und Gebäude betrachten, den Palast bewundern, ein wahres, von der Alchemie inspiriertes Philosophenhaus, durch den exotischen Park spazieren und seine Spiritualität spüren. Der Regaleira-Palast ist das Hauptgebäude und der gebräuchlichste Name von Quinta da Regaleira. Er ist auch als Monteiro dos Milhões-Palast bekannt, ein Name, der mit dem Spitznamen seines früheren Besitzers António Augusto Carvalho Monteiro in Verbindung steht.
Die jahrtausendealte maurische Burg, die unter islamischer Herrschaft errichtet wurde, ist ein privilegierter Aussichtspunkt mit Blick auf die Atlantikküste, die Überschwemmungsebene und die Sintra-Berge und nahm damals eine strategische Position zur Verteidigung sowohl des umliegenden Territoriums als auch der maritimen Zugangswege zur Stadt Lissabon ein. Die an dieser Stätte gefundenen Artefakte zeigen, dass zwischen den Mauern und ihren angrenzenden Gebieten eine Bevölkerung in einem Gebiet lebte, das heute als islamisches Viertel bezeichnet wird.
Die Geschichte dieses magischen Ortes reicht bis ins 12. Jahrhundert zurück, als sich hier eine Kapelle befand, die Unserer Lieben Frau von Pena gewidmet war. An derselben Stelle ordnete König Manuel I. den Bau eines Klosters an, des Königlichen Klosters Unserer Lieben Frau von Pena, das später dem Hieronymitenorden übergeben wurde.

Neel was exceptional. I need to repeat that exceptional. He went so completely beyond and is the best guide we have ever had, from helping with moody teens, taking amazing photos and videos to making sure we seen and experienced everything Sintra had to offer. He is so knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. Not even only with my family, you see how he interacts with the people around him. From saying hi to babies, talking to the staff at the locations and store owners. He is embedded, invested and proud of his country. It shows in his attitude, his passion to pass on this history and a how hard he works. We will definitely book him again and recommend him to our friends and colleagues that are coming in the fall to Portugal. You will not be disappointed.

This was a great tour. Our guide Hossain was an excellent host. He was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of information along the tour. Doing the tour through Viator had its perks as we were able to advance to the front of the line at Pena Palace, saving a lot of time. Hossain was also very flexible, and allowed us to change the itinerary since it was a private tour. Great tour, great day. Thanks Hossain.
We were scheduled to be picked up at our hotel, the driver never showed up. When we contacted the agency they said they had been to the hotel, insisted that we were being untruthful. Said they had call/texted 5 times, which was incorrect. Thank goodness we were able to contact another tour guide and get on their schedule, otherwise we would have had a wasted day!
We had an amazing time on this tour with our tour guide, Neel, who told us so many information about the history of the area. The moorish castle was very cool and Pena palace was pretty while the Regilera tunnels were so interesting. I very much recommend this tour and Neel is an amazing tour guide!

We had a phenomenal day with Mr. fantastic! This was one of the only tours that we could find that would do the Moorish Castle, Pena Palace, AND Quinta Regaleira. We really appreciated the knowledgeable guide and very smooth logistics of the entire day. We got to see all the sights we wanted in Sintra. The great views and ruins of the Moorish Castle were spectacular. Then, we got to go to the Pena Palace, which our guide was able to deftly navigate the lines, and held our place while we ate at the cafe. We also had a good lunch with a helpful recommendation from Mr. Fantastic. Overall an amazing experience which we would not have been able to do in one day otherwise. Highly recommend!!

The day is full so you need a guide who understand the crowds and what to do when and where. Between Pena Palace, Santa, Moorish Castle, all was completed and avoided big crowds. NAYEM was Awesome!!!
