Wir treffen uns im Stadtzentrum im Gran Hotel Bolívar, Jirón de la Unión 958, und von dort aus fahren wir zum berühmten Zentralmarkt. Es ist ein 15-minütiger Spaziergang.
Bevor wir den berühmten Central Market betreten, werden wir anhalten, um die berühmte "4 Colors"-Platte zu genießen. Dies ist eine Kombination aus peruanischen Gerichten : Ceviche, peruanische rote Spaghetti, Chanfainita (Eintopf) und andere. Natürlich wird es von einem erfrischenden Glas Chicha Morada (ein Getränk aus lila Mais) begleitet.
Wir besuchen den Zentralmarkt und besuchen gemeinsam einige Stände, wo wir exotische peruanische Früchte und einen erfrischenden Saft aus einer davon probieren werden.
Wir betreten dann die kleine Welt von Chinatown. Hier besuchen wir einen berühmten Stand, der Siu Mai Liebhabern bekannt ist; eine Chinesische Vorspeise.
Wir erkunden die Gegend außerhalb des Zentralmarktes und probieren berühmte Gerichte : Antikuchos (gegrillte Fleischspieße), Pata conhuavo (Schweinefüße mit Ei), Choclo con queso (Mais mit Käse), maazamorra morada (lila Maispudding) und andere.
Unsere Tour endet um die Plaza de Armas, wo wir unseren letzten Snack des Tages probieren werden : den berühmten peruanischen Churro (ein knusprig gebratenes Teiggebäck, das mit Zucker überzogen und oft mit Schokolade oder Karamellsauce serviert wird).

The agency was very easy to communicate with. My guide Juan Diego was energetic and was very knowledgeable and eager to teach about Peruvian culture and cuisine. He knew the best spots for street food around Lima and he was very supportive and eager to show and get me to try more and more of their local food during the tour. There was so much food! Our guide, Momo, was excellent. He is extremely knowledgeable about the area and the food. He took great care to show us everything he could. The food was great. This is definitely worthwhile.
