Reiseverlauf
Best part of our trip by far, this was an amazing tour. We especially loved our tour guide Louis! He was so fun, and made sure we had a great time. The ruins were incredible and we loved getting to hike the stairs to the top and explore in some of the entrances. Very educational, and we’re impressed by the spiritual Beautiful cenote, got to jump off the ledge into the water which was thrilling. All in all would love to do this again and highly recommend anyone who wants to check this tour out.

This might have been my all-time favorite tour! Our guide, Roberto, was incredible! He was knowledgeable about the Mayan culture (He is Mayan) and was also very well versed in the scriptures. But he didn't put things together that just didn't work. (Like saying this WAS a Nephite temple) We also took the Chichen Ita Tour with this same company and had a wonderful time. They have a max of 12 people, so we didn't have to be on a tour bus with a million other people. All the tours for which we hired Alma Tours was incredible! And since we booked two tours, they provided transportation from our hotel to church for free. Lunch and the Cenote were also fabulous! We were able to eat authentic food and still feel safe eating it. If we go back to Cancun, they're the only company we'll use!

Ek Balam is an astonishingly preserved archaeological treasure and well worth the drive. Our guide Mario made the site come alive and presented us with information on the civilization. This tour was our favorite.

Wonderful trip. Wonderful time. Wonderful guide and driver. Great information Thanks so much. We’ll see you again at Chichen Itza.
Thank you for choosing Alma's LDS Tour! See you on your next trip visiting these amazing sites together.
This was so fun! Luis picked us up at our hotel, drove us to Ek Balam- we were basically the first ones there and had the whole place to ourselves most of the time. Luis was so knowledgeable about Mayan history as well as general information about Mexico and the Yucatán peninsula and was able to answer all of our questions. The ruins were amazing, we are so glad we came! The preservation of the Mayan temple at ek Balam was incredible. After Ek Balam, the lunch was good and the cenote was so cool! There were very clean bathrooms and changing rooms. Luis was a fantastic guide and we felt safe and comfortable and taken care of the whole time. We hope to come back and visit some of the other ruins with Alma’s Tours!

We loved our tour of the Ek Balan and Chichén Itza ruins with Alma LDS Tours. Luís was knowledgeable, helpful, and personable. He helped navigate us through the crowds, and I liked how he found places in the shade to give explanations before taking us close to the attractions. This helped us not get too hot. His insights into the connections between the Mayans and the Book of Mormon were interesting. The food at lunch was delicious! We also loved jumping into Ik Kil Cenote. (One tip here: we were surprised that we could only wear water shoes and not our Tevas or Chacos). Overall it was a great excursion and we would recommend highly!

We also went to Coba. It was a perfect day. We had Louis, he was an excellent guide. We learned so much. He was very knowledgeable and fun.
Tour 22. Coba, Ek Balam and Cenote is definitely a favorite tour and we are glad Luis was able to make is a perfect day for you. Can't wait to have you with Alma's LDS Tours again and tour many more amazing places together.
The site itself is amazing, and our tour guide did a good job of explaining how the architecture ties in with some history. We loved being able to climb on the site, go through rooms, visit the astronomy tower, etc. The cenote swim was very cool and refreshing but the buffet was less than great. Do not expect water to be included in your meal. :) The restrooms at the cenote did not have toilet seats and the "attendant" expected to be tipped for providing no services. On the down side, our guide was 30 minutes late to pick us up, we had to sit in the back, elevated portion of the bus so we could not see out the windows, and he delivered the other family on our tour back to Cancun before he took us back to Playa del Carmen, which we passed on the way back!
Thank you for your positive feedback on our guided service! We're thrilled to hear that you had a great experience. We understand that the local amenities might not have met your expectations, and we truly appreciate your valuable input. We'll certainly take this into consideration as we continuously strive to enhance our offerings. We hope to have the opportunity to serve you again in the future
We did our first tour with Alma's 8 years ago, and when we brought our whole family back to Mexico last week for the Christmas holiday, we knew we needed to go with Alma's again. Our group of 7 was picked up right on time at our condo on the day of the excursion, and we were the only ones in our group. Our guide, Luis, was amazing! Friendly, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable, our day with Luis was the best tour we've ever had. The van was plenty roomy and had lots of ice-cold bottled water. He made sure we could stop at restrooms along the 2.5 drive from the Hotel Zone to Chichen Itza for our first stop. He helped us zip right through the line (he picked up tickets for us while we took a bathroom break). He took us around the ruins to spots where there were no other tourists or vendors and showed us some very cool points of interest before making our way to the pyramid and ball court. Next, we went to a beautiful spot for a buffet lunch with traditional Yucatan fare before the drive to Ek Balam. Same great experience with Luis at Ek Balam where he did a masterful job explaining the history and significance of the Mayan civilization. He then drove us to the cenote Xcanche nearby the ruins. We practically had the place to ourselves! Never did Luis make us feel rushed, and he answered every question our kids asked during the day. He told us people rarely go to Ek Balam and the Cenote Xcanche when they book with Alma's but we'd highly recommend it. No crowds there and it's the only ruin you can still climb! He got us back to our condo safely and with the same enthusiastic spirit as he started the day with. At the end of the day, our teenagers even asked Luis to be in a selfie with them, something they've never asked their parents to do! If you're thinking of an excursion, book with Alma's and ask for Luis to be your guide (unless it's the same day we do our next excursion with them because we call dibs).

Ek Balam with Christian was incredible! The site was amazing and the information during the tour was awesome. We have done Tulum and Chitzen Itza with other non-LDS guides and they don’t compare. This trip was by far our favorite. Again Christian was a joy to be with and a wonderful guide. Ek Balam was not crowded at all like the wall to wall people we experienced at Chiten Itza, very enjoyable. We also did the lunch and cenote swim. The lunch was very good authentic Mexican food. The smoked pork was to die for. The cenote was beautiful but very cold water. We still had fun swimming with the fish, just be mentally prepared for a shock when you jump in.
Hello John! Thank you for allowing Alma's LDS Tours to be part of your vacations. We are so glad to learn you have enjoyed your tour with Christian. We strive to create long-lasting memories and we hope we have achieved it with this tour. Ek Balam is definitely a family favorite tour, being able to climb adds adventure to it. There is still so many more beautiful sites to see and we cant wait to have your family visit again and tour those places.
