Landmannalaugar von Super Jeep

* Felt misled that this was a small group experience - 14 travelers jammed in the vehicle. I had to sit in the back of the vehicle in the middle of three people. I did not have a window to see the scenery on the long drive, nor did my seat have a seat belt. * The trip leader, Robert, did not offer any natural or cultural history educational information on the tour. I really wanted to learn about Iceland's geology, geography, and culture. * The leader could not accompany the group on the hike due to a sore leg. He gave rather vague information on the trail and no trail map. * Lunch is not provided nor was a box lunch offered in the pre-departure materials. We were unaware sandwiches and other lunch items were available at the meeting point (Hella) & that there is a small cafe. * There are too many visitors at Landmannalaugar. We could not hike at our own pace because there was a group of 25 ahead and behind us. The parking lot was full for large and small buses. * The number of visitors clearly exceeds the destination's carry capacity. * The roundtrip road transfer time to the tour and back to our hotel was 3 1/2 hours * Overall, our experience was poor given the price US$623 pp, including transfer from Reykjavik hotel. * Several members of the group including one family told me they are requesting refund because they felt misled given that they paid over US$2,000 for the tour. My observations are based on 40-years in the travel industry, serving as Geographic Expedition's President and WWF's VP for Travel in partnership with Natural Habitat Adventures

Tour guide was excellent with explaining the history of the region. When we arrived to Landmannalauger there was something for everyone to enjoy. My daughter is 10 and preferred the geothermal pool, my husband wanted a long hike and I was hoping for a short hike. We all got what we wanted. Also the pictures I saw of Landmannalauger were accurate. It really did look that spectacular. A bit pricey but worth it in the end.

Not a good experience for the premium price we paid!! The company was more expensive compared to others. By the time we boarded, the only seats left for us had a broken/blocked window, which significantly limited our ability to enjoy the scenic drive, while the other passengers had unobstructed views. Importantly our concern was not addressed! Since a large part of the tour is the scenic drive itself, it was disappointing to pay the same price but have a limited view.

This is just a transportation service. There were many opportunities to share even basic interpretation of geology, etc that would have enriched the tour. Vehicle was very comfortable though.

We went with the guide Adam for a super jeep trip, it was amazing, the views are wonderful. Adam is very knowledgeable, patient in answering all the questions, and has a sense of humor. In fact, he went out of his way, made an effort to make us have a good time, explained the route, the surroundings, and also told all kinds of interesting stories about Iceland. It is highly recommended to tour with Adam.

What an experience! Fun ride in a super jeep, amazing guide and landscapes and colours one would not expect. The hike up Bláhnúkur was stunning, with fantastic views of this beautiful part of Iceland. I am looking forward to return to Landmannalaugar when I return to Iceland. Highly recommended. Our driver Helgi was great. Top driver dooe all those rough landscapes. Knew a lot to tell us and was also super funny. We've had the outing and time of our lives. Thank you for seeing and photographing all that beauty. Helgi will stay with us for the rest of our trip through Iceland. Along the way, if we go out to dinner, puffins will see 🤣🤣, etc.. Very nice excursion. Stunning landscapes. We had an extremely kind driver..

We were lucky enough to go on the super jeep tour of the Thorsmork area of Iceland. The trip was incredible in the huge Ford and our guide was passionate and knowledgable about the landscape. We hiked and saw some beautiful sites and came home with memories we will treasure forever.

We booked an all day Super Jeep tour with this company as a last minute change of plan the day before our trip. We didn’t expect it to be the best day we had in Iceland! The vehicles we rode in gave us 100% confidence in their safety, capabilities, and comfort! The trip to the highlands was absolutely stunning! The tour guide we had, Magnus, was very friendly and very entertaining! He was enthusiastic about the day of adventure we had planned. He taught us fun Icelandic games as we drove to the highlands, stopped at every request to take pictures, and was extremely knowledgeable about the terrain. He showed us amazing views, waterfalls, and scenery we didn’t even know was there! I couldn’t recommend a company more for your Icelandic adventure! I can’t wait to come back to do it again!
