Landausflug von La Spezia nach Florenz und Pisa

Our cruise ship anchored in the bay of La Spezia and we took a tender to the port terminal. Meeting point worked out well. The rest of the excursion is pretty much as advertised: 2-hour bus ride to Florence; a couple of on-your-own hours for lunch and to look around. Matteo was our guide and did a nice job showing us around the first hour. Florence city center is more compact than I realized. Add in high season (lots of people) plus this year’s unusual European heat equals seeking shade and water. Reloaded the bus for the hour+ ride to Pisa. Got a little over an hour of free time. Pisa is more compact than Florence, the 3 major attractions are right together. The heat kept us from venturing too far from the leaning tower area. The bus ride back to the port is an hour. If you are on a cruise that stops in La Spezia, just want to see the major attractions in Florence and Pisa and don’t mind spending 4 hours of the excursion on a bus, this is a way to do it. The hot weather shouldn’t reoccur every July and there a reason it’s called high season.

I rated this low because I was pickpocketed at the famous bridge which negatively impacted my enjoyment. Having said that the guide was caring and supportive. He knew his stuff. Not t sure I would go back to Florence. If you go be very careful with valuables. Realize the bad actors are very skilled and they act fast attacking your credit cards if they succeed. I thought I was being very careful but they still acted fast as a team of two. Be especially careful when you go to take pictures. The city is beautiful and the second half of the tour to Pisa was good.

It was a great excursion! Matteo was an excellent tour guide who made the experience enjoyable from start to finish. We returned to the ship on time, which was my biggest concern, so everything went perfectly. Highly recommend!

A bad experience from the start with the local tour company, Shore Experience (through Viator.com). A bit of confusion and chaos at the ship port terminal meeting up with our tour group. The guide (Luminita or Lumi, as she is known) had a bit of an attitude and was rude with my wife when we were getting checked-in for the tour at the port terminal. This turned out to be a self-guided tour of Florence and Pisa for my family and I rather than the guided tour that was advertised on Viator. No bathroom on the double decker tour bus and no time for a bathroom break when our bus arrived in Florence after a 2 hours ride from the port. The guide (Luminita or Lumi) gives you no time for bathroom breaks. If you go for a bathroom break she will go on with the Florence walking tour without you. If buy the add-on ticket to walk up the Tower of Pisa, it is considered separate from the main Pisa walking tour and you’re pretty much on your own regarding finding and getting to the Tower of Pisa from the parking lot where the tour bus stops in Pisa and finding your way back to the bus (keeping in mind it was our first time in Pisa). We were told that the other guide (Sean) was waiting at Tower of Pisa for anyone in the group who had tickets to walk up the Tower of Pisa. What’s the point of the other guide waiting for us at the attraction?! The other guide (Sean) should have been waiting at the parking lot where the bus stopped in Pisa to meet us. Sean didn’t even escort us when we got to the Tower of Pisa. Sean disappeared after we came down from the tower. Piss poor planning for this tour package by the local tour company, Shore Experience.

I believe our guides’ name was Michael or Micheala . He spoke several languages and was a good story teller. Was overall a very good experience and the guide was for sur ethe highkight.

Check in it’s chaotic. Greenshire people are so rude. Doesn’t know whether it’s going on just the beginning of the trip. We’ll see how it goes.

Our guide, Martina, was fantastic and super organised and the trip was seamless from beginning to end. Grazia Martina!!

Our Florence and Pisa tour was fantastic. Our guide, Lorenzo, kept everything running effortlessly, maintaining great control of the large group while still keeping the atmosphere relaxed and fun. Highly recommended if you have a short time in Florence and Pisa.

Our guide nic name Keiko, was wonderful! He was very knowledgeable of area. Bus was very comfortable. Everyone enjoyed. It was very nice to be on your where our language was spoken clearly so we could get the most experience. My only negative would say we did not get nearly enough time in Pisa. It is a beautiful place and we only had one hour. Not nearly enough time to see anything but outside of leaning tower.

Excesetvoce, efficient, clear, clear, so knowledgeable. Overall an excellent experience. I would highly recommend. Kieko was an excellent tour guide.
