Eines der attraktivsten Dinge in San Sebastian ist das herrliche Hinterland. Obwohl die Stadt selbst viel zu bieten hat, lohnt es sich, das weniger bekannte Baskenland zu entdecken. Weiter nördlich finden wir die Küste. Die baskische Küste ist ein authentisches Naturparadies mit Schätzen, die Sie sonst nirgendwo auf der Welt finden. Entdecken Sie ein Gebiet mit einer üppig grünen, labyrinthartigen Landschaft, einer vielseitigen Küste, einer starken kulturellen Tradition und der ältesten Sprache Europas, in der das Kochen ein wesentlicher Bestandteil der Kultur und des Lebens selbst ist.

Reiseverlauf
Tolosa, die ehemalige Hauptstadt der Region und einer der besten Orte, um Rohprodukte zu finden. Nach einem kurzen Spaziergang durch das Dorf, in dem wir viele Paläste und Häuser der Ahnen in der Altstadt finden, fahren wir durch das Urola-Tal und besuchen den Berg Ernio, der als der Balkon der Region gilt und einer der symbolträchtigsten Gipfel der Region ist.
Das Heiligtum von Loyola ist ein imposanter barocker Tempel aus dem 18. Jahrhundert, der um den Geburtsort von Saint Ignatius, dem Gründer der Jesuiten-Jesuiten, errichtet wurde und die Basilika hervorhebt.
Wir machen einen kurzen Stopp in Zumaia. Die baskische Küste ist ein authentisches Naturparadies mit Schätzen, die Sie nirgendwo sonst auf der Welt finden. Ein Beispiel ist der Flysch von Zumaia, der 14 km einer Küste abdeckt und einen der prominentesten geologischen Aufschlüsse der Erde darstellt.
Schließlich nehmen wir eine malerische Küstenstraße und machen Halt in dem charmanten Dorf Getaria. Obwohl es sehr klein ist, hat es einen verdienten Ruf für seine gegrillten Fischrestaurants, den Txakoli-Wein und seine beiden berühmten Söhne: den berühmten Modedesigner Cristobal Balenciaga und Juan Sebastián Elcano, der 1519 als erster die Erde umrundete

Andoni was a great guide. Warm, personable, engaging, knowledgeable. Spoke excellent English, was flexible in itinerary (even when we were already underway!), made excellent recommendations. Prompt and attentive. Vehicle was clean and appeared well maintained. Well worth the price. If we had longer to stay, my wife and I would have booked other excursions with him again without question.

We did a private tour starting right from our hotel at La Concha in San Sebastián, and it was an unforgettable day! We started our day with a 9am pick up & visited Monte Igueldo first, then made a stop at the beach in Zarautz before heading to Ameztoi Winery for a gorgeous tour and tasting — all set up by Andoni. After that, we went to Getaria for a lovely seaside lunch (also arranged by Andoni) and ended the day in Zumaia to see the incredible Flysch rock formations. We arrived back to the hotel at 5pm! Andoni was super knowledgeable, friendly, and fun — he customized the entire day to our interests and made everything seamless. He shared local insights we never would’ve known on our own and gave us the perfect mix of beautiful views, great food, and culture. Highly recommend booking a tour with him — it was one of the highlights of our trip!
