Dieser wunderschöne und malerische öffentliche See mit einer Länge von 22 Meilen, der für sein klares, konstantes Wasser bekannt ist und über private Häuser am Wasser und an den Klippen sowie mehrere Restaurants an der Küste verfügt, beherbergt die Weltmeister-Wake-Surfer Ashley Kidd und Raleigh Hager und ist nur 20 Autominuten von der Innenstadt entfernt Austin.
Diese Stahlbogenbrücke aus dem Jahr 1982 ist ein Wahrzeichen von Austin. Sie erstreckt sich über die Entfernung des Lake Austin (1.150 Fuß lang) und verbindet den Nord- und Südabschnitt des Capital of Texas Highway. Das gewölbte Design der Brücke wurde entwickelt, um Stützsäulen zu vermeiden, die ansonsten Wasserskifahrer, Wecksurfer und Bootsfahrer auf den 36 Kilometern unter Wasser stören würden.

Diese 1916 erbaute Villa am Seeufer im italienischen Stil war das Zuhause von Clara Driscoll, einer Philanthropin, die maßgeblich zum Erhalt von Alamo beigetragen hat. Heute ist das 14 Hektar große Gelände die Heimat von The Contemporary Austin und umfasst einen Skulpturenpark im Freien, das Kunstmuseum Laguna Gloria und eine Kunstschule.
Dieser Damm, benannt nach einem ehemaligen Bürgermeister von Austin, wurde 1940 in Betrieb genommen. Er wurde zum Zweck des Hochwasserschutzes und der Erzeugung von Wasserkraft gebaut. Auf der stromaufwärtigen Seite befindet sich der Lake Austin und auf der stromabwärtigen Seite der Lady Bird Lake. Beide Stauseen sind eine Folge des Dammbaus.

What a great excursion. We had never been on the Lake before, and Marco our captain made us feel right at home. Very knowledgeable and conversational guy.
