Wenn wir unsere Tour von Dubrovnik aus starten, fahren wir etwa 50 Minuten bis zu unserer ersten Haltestelle, und das wird die Stadt Herceg Novi (kyrillisch: Херцег Нови, ausgesprochen [xěrtseɡ nôʋiː]) sein, eine Küstenstadt in Montenegro, die sich am westlichen Eingang zu befindet der Bucht von Kotor und am Fuße des Berges Orjen. Es ist das Verwaltungszentrum der Gemeinde Herceg Novi mit rund 33.000 Einwohnern. Herceg Novi war zwischen 1482 und 1797 als Castelnuovo ("Neue Burg" auf Italienisch) bekannt, als es Teil des Osmanischen Reiches und der Albanien Veneta der Republik Venedig war. Es war ein katholisches Bistum und bleibt ein lateinischer Titularsitz als Novi. Herceg Novi hat eine turbulente Vergangenheit hinter sich, obwohl es eine der jüngsten Siedlungen an der Adria ist. Von Herceg Novi nach Risan (montenegrinisch: Рисан, ausgesprochen [rîsan]) sind es etwa 35 Minuten Fahrt. Risan ist eine Stadt in der Bucht von Kotor, Montenegro. Es geht auf die antike Siedlung Rhizon zurück, die älteste Siedlung in der Bucht von Kotor. Wir werden hier anhalten, um berühmte römische Mosaiken in Risan zu sehen. Von Risan nach Perast sind es etwa 5 Autominuten. Risan (Montenegrinisch: Пераст) ist eine alte Stadt in der Bucht von Kotor in Montenegro. Sie liegt wenige Kilometer nordwestlich von Kotor und ist bekannt für ihre Nähe zu den Inseln St. George und Our Lady of the Rocks. Es liegt in einem abgelegenen Teil der Bucht von Kotor. Die Stadt hat 13.510 Einwohner und ist das Verwaltungszentrum der Gemeinde Kotor. Sie haben 2 Stunden Freizeit, um die Stadt zu erkunden

No maps provided inside wall of old town. Only verbal info provided and driver dropped off passengers at locations. Took trip to island with everything closed. Driver driving too fast and close to other cars. Driver talked several minutes at border checks points on personal matters friends. Countryside is beautiful. Length of time in cities were minimal.

We had a good trip to Montenegro with Darko. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and informative. He told several jokes on route to sightseeing places. Personally, we would have been happier to leave the visit to Budva, as the traffic was solid on the way back due to ongoing roadworks - took 1.5 hrs for a 2 hr stop and apart from the small old town, the rest of the area looks like an ugly building site. The morning sightseeing stops were great, but could be extended with time there and include a cable car ride up the mountain instead of Budva.
That an amazing tour, I supposed to have a tour in spanish, changed last minute and also the itinerary, bud was a great trip in general, especially for the chofer and guide (Andrew), kind and talkative and always open to help us on everything..
My daughter and I had such a wonderful, full day tour to Montenegro which I think was reasonably priced too. Our tour guide Darko I highly recommend as he made the day enjoyable, fun and interesting with his friendly personality, geographical and historical knowledge and professional approach. He was first class driver needed to tackle the busy roads and mountain terrain. What a memorable holiday 😀x

Had a great time! We were picked up from hotel by Andrew (our guide). He was friendly, informative and had a great sense of humor. The goal was to visit Perast, Kotor, and Budva. We loved that he got us to the destinations before they got too crowded, had our visit/pictures, etc and off to the next one. We hit all the highlights, had some great recommendations for Krempita dessert in Kotor and coffee in Perast and lunch in Budva. We were back in Dubrovnik before dinner time so we still had time for getting dinner and nighttime stroll in the Old City when we returned!
I had the pleasure of having Andrew as my tour guide, and I can’t recommend him highly enough! From the moment the tour began, Andrew impressed us with his deep knowledge, engaging storytelling, and passion for the history and culture of the area. He managed to make every stop meaningful, blending fascinating facts with fun anecdotes that brought the place to life.
