Allun is an excellent and knowledgeable guide. He gave a great overview of the site and then gave us time to explore on our own.
This was a heavy but important day for us and our teens and Werner is a gentle soul who handled everything with such grace. My teens really appreciated how much they learned and must have been pondering things afterwards since there were questions in the subsequent days.
Allen was our tour guide and he was phenomenal. He is extremely knowledgeable and well-versed on the Nazi concentration camps history. He has done this tour so many times and he has it planned perfectly and knows exactly how to guide us to get the most out of our visit. He keeps his tour group size small limited to 15 people max which means you actually get to see and hear him speak and it makes much more personal. If you’ve ever been in a large tour group of 50 to 60 people, it makes it really difficult to hear or see your tour guide. I was able to pick his brain a bit when there was some brief times in between walking to the next thing he wanted to show us. He’s a tower of knowledge. It is a very sobering and humbling experience, but it’s one that I think everybody should do when they’re visiting Munich. We need to remember our past and also pay homage to the thousands of holocaust people that were exterminated. I highly recommend this tour and highly recommend Allen as well. Five stars
We enjoyed Alun’s tour. Provided great knowledge and the delivery was great.
Alun was an excellent guide: very knowledgeable, courteous and well organized. He allowed for a balance between informing our small group and allowing time for our exploration and discovery. As an original Brit, his English was of course without any accent that might maker it a challenge for an English speaker, and his many, many years of living in Germany meant that his German language and understanfing of German culture and history were superb. Everyone was very happy with the job he did.
Alun was a tremendous guide! Not only was he very knowledge oriented on the subject, but he was also very patient and kind. He would explain history with taste and compation and he would tell is exactly what he would recommend seeing as well as, how much time we would have to see the area and where to meet him. Thank you, Alun, for making such a sad part of history interesting and understandable! G. Engman
Alun was very knowledgeable and made the experience. Dachau was a very deep and dark place, but worth going to.
It was very hot! If you are going in the summer I recommend at least 2 bottles of water. Alun was very knowledgeable and interesting!!
Thanks Betsy, yes we are in the middle of a "heat dome" in Europe at the moment. I recommend either bringing water with or I give guests the opportunity to buy water at the visitors centre. Really happy that you got value from your experience. All the best.
We recommend this tour with Alun!
