This has definitely been a highlight of our Japan trip! It is easy enough to find, you are welcomed by friendly reception staff and continue with the amazing hospitality all night. The food was incredible and free flow of drinks was a plus. The mic man did an amazing job and the sumo wrestlers are so entertaining, they even had dancers who were beautiful. My daughter was mesmerised.

Better than we could have wished for. Fun for the entire family of 8, 14-56. Food was plentiful, drinks flowed freely, just the right mix of Japanese/western. Great family entertainment. Great value for money. We arrived 30 min early which was perfect as it is first come first seated.

The Kyoto Sumo Club was, without question, the highlight of our family’s trip to Japan. The entire experience was incredibly entertaining, interactive, and fun from start to finish. The evening begins with a beautiful geisha dance performance, followed by an exciting and humorous sumo wrestling demonstration that explains the traditions and techniques of the sport. What really made the experience unforgettable was the audience participation. Both of my kids had the opportunity to step into the ring and compete in a sumo match. Watching them wrestle was absolutely hilarious—I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. The event lasts about two hours and includes unlimited food and drinks, with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available. The atmosphere is lively, welcoming, and perfect for visitors of all ages. If you’re looking for a unique cultural experience that the whole family will enjoy, don’t miss the Kyoto Sumo Club. This was such a FUN experience! The whole family loved it. It was dinner and a show with all you can eat/drink and there were no limits. The sumo wrestlers were interactive with the crowd and came in to take pictures with people. There was an opportunity at the end to get pictures with everyone involved. It was definitely an experience to remember!

The show was wonderful. Fun, informative, lots of interaction with the guests. Geisha dancing and games, sumo training and lots of information with a chance to ask question at the end. And ours came with a group photo to take home. The food was good and all you can eat. Then after the match between the sumo wrestlers, 8 people from the crowd get to pit themselves against a sumo. Men, women and children can participate. My husband went up to try and a bet was made. The sumo wrestler said, if I win, I get your wife as my own. Guess what, I have a new Japanese husband. So much fun.

This is a super fun summo event for tourists to Japan that gives an introduction to the rules, history and methods of sumo and then hosts a live sumo match. The food is all you can eat and it’s delicious. Certainly a must for those interested in sumo or even a little bit intrigued.
