Diese Kirche hat einen sehr charakteristischen gotischen Baustil, der bis ins späte 19. Jahrhundert zurückreicht. Es ist auf einem Hügel gebaut und sehr oft finden Sie Einheimische, die als Hommage an die Jungfrau durch den steilen Hügel zur Kirche gehen. Anschließend besuchen wir eine indigene Familie, in der wir das Weben von Panamahüten beobachten. Dies ist eines der authentischsten Handwerke Süd-Ecuadors und spielt eine herausragende Rolle in der Wirtschaft der Region. Wir setzen unsere Tour mit einer Fahrt durch das bezaubernde Hochland fort und genießen die schöne Aussicht auf dem Weg.
Ingapirca ist Ecuadors wichtigste archäologische Inka-Stätte. Sonnenanbeter bauten diesen Festungstempel im 15. Jahrhundert im Cañar-Tal. Es liegt ungefähr 60 Meilen nordöstlich von Cuenca auf einer Höhe von 10.500 Fuß über dem Meeresspiegel. Hier finden wir eine der wichtigsten Inka-Strukturen, eine elliptische Plattform, die als "Sonnentempel" bekannt ist und von Innenhöfen, Terrassen und verschiedenen anderen Strukturen umgeben ist. Um die lokale Atmosphäre näher kennenzulernen, machen wir eine kurze Wanderung, um das Inka-Gesicht zu beobachten, einen großen Steinvorsprung.

I really enjoyed this visit to Ingapirca and learned so much history about the Cañaris and Incas. The countryside is so beautiful and was a nice comfortable drive, with fun stops along the way. It feels really special to visit the site, and Andrés was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend this day trip, either private or as a shared tour.
