The trip and hotel reservation were well handled by the provider. On the other hand, we found that aside from the hotel pools and a few beautiful beaches on the west coast, there is not much to do and visit. The palace of Sisi (or the Achilleion palace) that is praised in all the brochures... is closed. You only visit gardens in poor condition. Corfu is a beautiful city; Mouse Island and the monastery on the pier merit a visit. The Blue Lagoon is worth seeing, but it is very touristy. Paleokastritsa with its beaches and the monastery is a must-see. Paxos and Antipaxos can be skipped if you have already been to the Blue Lagoon. Stunning beach at Gardenos (west coast) Stop at the many taverns; you can eat well for less than €20.

Nous sommes cependant enchantés que vous ayez découvert la magnifique plage de Gardenos et que vous ayez apprécié l'authenticité des tavernes locales — c'est exactement le genre de pépites que nous aimons recommander ! Vos remarques sur Palaiokastritsa et la vieille ville de Corfou sont précieuses et nous aident à toujours mieux conseiller nos voyageurs. L'île recèle de nombreux secrets et nous serions ravis, lors d'un prochain séjour, de vous guider vers ses coins les plus préservés et moins touristiques. Old town was cute and had nice places to sit and eat and shop. Although the rest of the tour was less than to be desired. The palace should not be a stop since it’s under renovation and hasn’t been worked on in three years. We’re told we’d see the gardens but they had no color and were poorly cared for. We ended up cutting the tour short and went straight to old town because the tour had lost everyone’s attention and we were looking to save any portion of it. This tour needs to be revised to be appealing in anyway.
We spent a wonderful 2weeks at the beautiful Mon Repos hotel in Corfu Town. our bedroom was well decorated and spacious with a lovely view of the sea. we stayed half board and there was a good variety of choice at breakfast and evening meal. The staff were wonderful.so pleasant and friendly nothing was too much trouble. there is a bus stop to town just around the corner but we usually preffered to walk along te promenade although this may be hazardous in places for anyone wit walking difficulties.There is a hop on hop off bus around the town centre and we also went on a bus trip around the island. We had a wonderful holiday made all the better by the attitude of the lovely staff all of whom were a great asset to this wonderful hotel.
It sounds like you had a fantastic time during your two weeks at the Mon Repos hotel in Corfu Town! The well-decorated and spacious bedroom with a sea view must have been a delight. It's great to know that the half-board option offered a good variety of choices for both breakfast and dinner, and that the staff were pleasant, friendly, and attentive throughout your stay. Walking along the promenade and exploring the town via the hop-on-hop-off bus must have been a wonderful way to experience Corfu's charm. The bus trip around the island sounds like a great way to see more of its beauty. We're glad to hear that the attitude of the lovely staff added to the enjoyment of your holiday.
