We enjoyed our class so very much! It was exceptional, personal, perfect. The food was delicious and I learned so much about Korean cuisine. I would love return for another class.
We’ve started a tradition of taking a cooking class when we travel—and today’s in Seoul was one of the best yet. We had the pleasure of joining a class with Ongo Food Communication, led by owner and founder Jai Choi. The class was small and intimate—just seven of us (five from the U.S. and a newlywed couple from Australia). We each prepared two dishes: Japchae (sweet potato noodles with vegetables) and Jeyuk-bokkeum (spicy pork). And I don’t mind saying—this was some of the best food I’ve had since arriving in Korea. Highly recommend this experience—great food, great instruction, and a fun way to connect with the culture and fellow travelers.

I took a wonderful cooking class withJia today. She is a marvelous cook and we made 2 delicious dishes, Japheth noodles which I learned are made from sweet potatoes and a pork dish. all of the ingredients will be easy to find in San Diego.Preparation was easy and the dishes were ready n a very short time. This class would be good for.all levels of cooks. Jia is very charming helpful. This class was the highlight of my stay in Seoul. If you have an opportunity to take this class you will not regret it.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We're so glad you had lot of fun cooking with us! :)
Very friendly chef with easy to follow instructions. Whilst my partner cooks daily, I do not so was given some extra help which was much appreciated. Food was delicious!! (if we do say so ourselves)
The instructor spoke very good English and knew a lot about how the ingredients are named and used in other cuisines, even obscure ones. The instructor also did an excellent job of breaking the ice, making it easy to chat with the other participants and learn about their backgrounds. I’m terrible at cooking but this recipe for bibimbap and bulgogi was simple and beginner-friendly, and still came out delicious!
Thank you very much for your review. It was our pleasure having you in the class, and we're so happy you enjoyed the experience!
We had a great time with this cooking class. The classroom is cozy ensuring a small group experience. The dishes we made were simple, fresh and delicious!
Great experience with amazing teacher! We get to know 2 dishes from Korean cuisine which we are going to utilise a lot at home. Class takes place is beautiful surrounding of Hanok village and you are definitely sunk in Korea while cooking.
Very informative with information on food culture in a relaxed way. Enjoyable experience with relaxed attitude. Perfect for what we wanted.
My daughter and I enjoyed an amazing cooking class with Jia! She is so warm, friendly and knowledgeable… The facility is charming and comfortable. The explanations of Korean cuisine and the demonstration are first rate. It was exciting to prepare the meal ourselves and it tasted so good. It is possible to control the spice level to your personal taste. I would highly recommend this experience to everyone looking to learn about Korean food and looking to interact with locals. We will never forget our day with Jia and her charming assistants.
Thanks for your lovely review! We appreciate your feedback :)
