Beschreibung

In my opinion, an essential

Excellent visit and very well documented by our guide Nelson, Civitatis-Torres Prague, who despite 40 years in Prague, has not lost his sense of humor. The truth is that it has made me remember many historical landmarks and know about new ones. Although we are tired, I recommend it 100%. We have visited the cemetery, the concentration camp, the ghetto (very curious), one of the museums, the crematorium, the morgue and the old train tracks.

We got an email less than a day before our tour that the tour was cancelled and we'd get a refund. No explanation, no apology, just the email from Viator letting us know. Tried to reach out but she never replied. Sadly, we missed the opportunity to visit Terezin because we couldn't find an alternative that quickly and already had other activities booked for the rest of our stay.

My visit to Terezin

Tatiana was an excellent guide and host. From the moment we met she was energetic and informative. She has a reverence for Terezin which is imperative, I think. She also has a vast knowledge of the history leading up to the beginning of the use as a camp in WWII. Her knowledge of the history of the Czech Republic and surrounding areas is extensive and impressive. I study history and music and had a wonderful time talking with her the entire time. It was intense and beautiful, and a dream of mine to visit. Tatiana made it better than I could have imagined, and I am very grateful.

Thought provoking visit.

We were expecting a tour with Tatiana as it was her company and the reviews although few were very positive but she messaged to say Albert would be our guide for the day. Albert our guide arrived promptly in a super comfortable vehicle. We went to the museum first. Worth noting the tour does not include the cost of Terezin admission (about £11 each). Albert showed us in to Museum and asked us to meet him back at the car in 40 minutes. The museum has so much to see it wasn’t long enough to do it justice. He then drove us to Terezin small fort which was incredible. Albert left us with Martin the Terazin camp’s own guide who was brilliant. We had a one hour tour walking round and then met Albert again at the small refreshment canteen. There are vending machines to buy snacks and drinks. We were then driven through the large Fort and spent a brief time at the burial site. The crematorium is closed on a Saturday which is worth bearing in mind if you are hoping to see it too. Albert has lots of knowledge of local history and his English is very good. His mobility is limited which might work if you are someone who needed a slower pace. We left the hotel promptly at 09.00 and were back by 13.50 so just under 5 hours in total. Journey to Terezin from Prague is approximately one hour each way depending on traffic.

Terezin tour with Tatiana

Visit with our very friendly guide Tatiana, very professional, attentive, and very patient with our low level of English. Tatiana was an extraordinary help in sharing with us this painful but nevertheless necessary approach to the memory of the place. Departure and return from the hotel near the Pont Charles by private car. A day we will not forget during our stay in the Czech Republic.

A great way to explore a sad history

Everyone should know the atrocities that went in Terezin and the best way to do it is with our guide, Tatiana, and driver Victor. Both showed up on time to pick us up. Both have easy expressions and wonderful smiles. We’re traveling with kids, 13 and 6. The tour is a somber one. With Tatiana’s explanations, you start to understand the complex history of the place. Can’t recommend this company enough. Thanks Tatiana!

Gracious, accommodating, knowledgeable guide - would recommend.

Tatiana was a great guide and a pleasure to work with. We booked this trip for the standard morning departure for out small group, but later learned our son would not be arriving in Prague in time to join us for the tour. I contacted Tatiana several days in advance and she graciously agreed to move it to an afternoon tour so our son could join. Then when he arrived a little late for the tour she happily accommodated us. Tatiana had a lot of very interesting information about the country and culture on the drive to Terezin which was most welcome. The tour itself is rather depressing given the subject matter but Tatiana handled it well and patiently answered all our questions. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone looking for a small private tour to Terezin.
