This was, bar none, one of the best tours that I’ve ever had. This was a private tour. Senior Villar brought the history of Queretaro Mexico to life with his vibrant descriptions and explanations of that historical period. He took his time, spoke with passion, and each historical event connected sequentially with the next so that I could understand the full scope of events that occurred. He not only is great historian and story teller, but also a linguist explaining the origins of many Spanish words that have Moorish and French influence. As a student of history I couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide. This was like a comprehensive semester of Mexican history rolled into 6 hours. It was not overwhelming. Senor Villar engaged me at every step by bringing these historical events to life. I can’t recommend him enough and will call upon his services again the next time I am in Mexico.
Oh, Miss Powell, thank you so much for your comments. I really appreciate it, and I was also very impressed by your vast knowledge of history. It was a pleasure to do this with such a kind, attentive, and pleasant person. Thank you for your interest in our history. It will be a pleasure to serve you again.
Excellent Tour! The best if you want a deep and professional experience on the history of Mexico Alejandro Villar Aguilar is the BEST and the best option in Santiago de Querétaro. Friendly, attentive, educational, the expectations I had prior to this tour were exceeded by Alejandro! Without a doubt I highly recommend it.
Alex was very knowledgeable of the history of Queretaro. Learned quite a bit about the reign of Maximilian.
My friends and I are very grateful for this deep emersion in story telling by our guide, Alejandro. He is a walking wikipedia of history, architecture, culture, gastronomy and it extends beyond just Queretaro city to include the impact of other nearby towns. As we walk around the town and he points out occurrences in the buildings our imagination was vividly engaged. I know this tour should be about 4 hours, but we were so engaged we did 5+ hours as we kept discovering more and more information. Alejandro’s passion for all that Mexico represents was evident. I even had questions the next day and he promptly gave us more suggestions by phone. He is fluent in Spanish and English and other languages. He adds a flair of accents when sharing historical characters! I will be sure to engage again for more towns.
My husband and I had the most informative and entertaining 3 + hours this morning learning about Mexico and Queretero history from Alex our tour guide. Sometimes when on a tour your mind wanders, but not so with Alex. His knowledge and story telling abilities are first class. When he told us he does a little acting on the side I thought "of course you do." That's how he makes it so interesting. We highly recommend this tour with Alex.
It is always, always a pleasure to be able to talk with kind people like you, interested in our history and commenting from their own points of view... I really appreciate receiving visitors like you. Thank you for your kindness and attention.
It was the best way to say goodbye to 2022!! How exciting the story is! And Alejandro transports you to that time with a unique narrative

Alejandro knows Quetaro inside and out and he especially knows and loves its history. This is the perfect tour for history buffs.
Alejandro is an incredible source of knowledge. He is passionate about history and culture and provided an interesting, engaging and entertaining tour of Queretaro history.
This was a great way to learn about the rich history of Queretaro. Alejandro was a fantastic guide full of historical stories that kept my attention. He also answered many questions I had because I am a new visitor to Mexico. I learned lots about the indigenous peoples of Mizo-America, the arrival of the Spanish, the conquest of Mexico, the history of the colony, the importance of Cinco de Mayo, and the political changes in the 1800's. Alejandro was great in relating these points to history in the United States. That was important to me because I am from Texas. The walking tour was also fun because we started about 8:00 when it was not hot. In addition, the walking was not at all difficult even for me. I am 75! Much of the time I was seated listening to Alejandro's presentations. I felt comfortable throughout the tour. Alejandro was super because of his friendly personality, knowledge of history, native-speaker fluency in English, and flexibility. I would love to repeat this tour ........... it was that good! I highly recommend this tour!
