This small place is wonderful even if you are not a birder. They have multiple hummingbird feeders and the small gems are flying everywhere. Clearly worth an extra visit.

We had a very nice experience with José visiting several sites around Cusco and the Sacred Valley. We observed many interesting birds from different environments and learned a little about local reality as well. Great experience and excellent service. José also told us about his work in parallel carrying out education and outreach with local communities, which further raises the level of satisfaction for having taken this tour. Jose Luis and his team were true birding professionals. It was an amazing experience exploring the diverse bird life of SE Peru with Neisa and to learn from her local expertise of the landscape and wildlife. Jose Luis went out of his way to accommodate me at the last moment - he was very busy with bird exploration and was filming for an upcoming documentary. Yet he made it all possible for me and for that I am very grateful to him and Neisa for their kindness. This is an exceptional organization that I hope to revisit in 2026.

Wonderful tour! We loved the personalized experience, visiting spectacular places, seeing incredible birds, and getting a taste of the best of Peruvian culture and cuisine. Highly recommend!

Wow, what a pleasure it was to go birding with Jose Luis Lescano! I had just finished the Inca Trail along with my wife, brother, and sister in law.. and was aware that I had an unscheduled partial day before our flight out of Cusco . What to do? Of course go birding! In haste I contacted Jose Luis, and the very next day was happily birding the areas adjacent to Cusco . Our morning began with the local endemics , followed by midday hummers and a very obliging Undulated Antpitta! What a great way to spend my last meaningful hours in Peru, and with such great company. Jose is a renaissance man and can discuss birds, cuisine, and history, all within the same paragraph, all of which I found very interesting. Frankly looking forward to the next time in Cusco to go further afield in search of more birds. Do yourself a favor and contact Jose Luis for a great day or more of birding !

Wish I could give this tour 100 stars!! We had a packed week of birding and added about 100 or so to our list (hummingbirds, song birds, shore birds, birds of prey, and incredible endemic birds!!) -- But also mixed in with cooking classes, Inca trail, Cristo Blanco, city tours of Lima and Cusco... and of course the iconic Machu Picchu where we saw a rainbow-- it was breathtaking!! But, the stars of the show were our guides-- Jose Luis and Cristina weaved in the history, culture.and inspiring lifestyles of the kind, gracious and hardworking Peruvian people. Even when we had a flight cancelation for our journey home-- they helped us navigate through it... welcomed us into their home,... cooked us a delicious meal... and transported us to the airport. We felt like we were saying goodbye to familia... and we truly made some lifelong friends!!

Excellent visit. Seven new species of Hummingbirds and one endemic bird species as well as a couple of other common Peruvian birds. Amazing Peruvian flower garden / grounds mixed in with a couple feeders. Non stop hummingbird activity.

This tour was my first official birding adventure in South America, and I was not disappointed. Jose and his team were fantastic! Their knowledge of Peru's birds and their passion for sharing those birds with others were evident. Not only that, but their mission to inspire conservation efforts by educating locals and tourists alike is one to be admired. Of course, the birds were amazing too! This tour included multiple stops along the way to the hummingbird garden to see several endemic species. As a photographer, I appreciated that Jose was patient and helpful when it came to me taking many photos, and I really enjoyed the chance to photograph hummingbirds (and many others) up close and in their element. I will most definitely be seeking Jose out for another tour whenever I return!

My son-in-law and I went on the Hummingbirds of the Sacred Valley tour with Jose Luis and really enjoyed the experience. Jose is very knowledgeable about the area and birds. He has a very happy energy and his overall happiness is impossible not to join in with. Trevor, my son-in-law is not a birder but left the tour looking to buy binoculars to start birding. Thank you Jose for a great experience. Jose was early by a half hour to pick us up from our hotel in Ollantayambo. We then drove to Ensifira Camp. Jose has excellent English. The camp itself has a lot to offer from Hummingbird feeders, seed and fruit feeders and it recently started attracting Antpittas. My main reason for this tour was bird photography and the short time period involved. The camp is well situated for bird photography from lighting to perches. Jose and company are passionate about birds in Peru and have a Youtube channel devoted to Birds in Peru with the primary focus being conservation. The channel name is AvistandoPeru. Seeing the videos was one of the reasons we chose this tour and company.

Jose was a fabulous guide. He took us to the Hummingbird gardens via a route that allowed us to see a number of other great birds. The gardens were the stand out however, the Giant and Sword Billed to name but two. He was also an entertaining car companion and listening to his conservation vision was compelling. Thoroughly recommend, and take plenty of memory cards !
