Heute Morgen fahren wir weiter nach Norden nach Preah Vihear und an die Grenze zu Siem Reap. Anschließend fahren wir in den Busch in die abgelegene Angkor-Hauptstadt Koh Ker, eine angkorianische Stätte im Norden Kambodschas, 70 Meilen nordöstlich von Siem Reap. Unter König Jayavarman IV. und seinem Sohn Hasavarman II. war es zwischen 928 und 944 kurzzeitig die Hauptstadt des Khmer-Reiches. Nachdem das Khmer-Reich im Angkor-Gebiet (Roluos) gegründet worden war, verlegte Jayavarman IV. die Hauptstadt im Jahr 928 nach Koh Ker. Unter seiner Herrschaft wurden hier zahlreiche Tempel errichtet, bis sein Nachfolger etwa zwanzig Jahre später in die Gegend von Angkor zurückkehrte. Die Stätte Koh Ker wird von Prasat Thom dominiert, einem 30 Meter hohen Tempelberg, der sich hoch über der Ebene und dem umliegenden Wald erhebt.

Pierre is an extremely pleasant guide, he explains very well the sites and their history as well as the local daily life. Always very punctual and smiling, we really liked his my professionalism and his proposals to adapt our circuit to our desires and the heat. On Driver Michel was also very pro. We had Pierre four days with visits to the main sites around Siem Riep, a market visit and cooking classes. A wonder!!!! Stolen from the jungle that for centuries has hidden the grandeur of this site. I visited 12 temples from the largest and most iconic to as many fascinating for their history. It is a tiring visit definitely and if the temperature is the humidity are high the pleasure of discovery must be earned
