Kochkurs zum Mittag-/Abendessen im HCM

Great market tour and cooking class! First, we went to the market where the locals shop for their food. Anna led us on an informative shopping tour for the ingredients we would be using for our class. The cooking instruction led by Hang was well organized and fun. The food was delicious and we learned some excellent cooking tips The one thing I was a bit disappointed with was the boat ride in the round coconut boat through the coconut grove. While this was an experience I was looking forward to, it turned out to be a very touristic excursion with many other boat tours, loud music and short performances of guys spinning their boats. I personally could have done fine without the “Gangnam style” performance….did they do this for the benefit of the large Korean tour group, or do they think people don’t know the difference between Vietnamese and Koreans? A quiet ride through the grove would have been a fun experience on its own. All in all, this was a fun, delicious and educational experience…all worth the price paid.
