Knossos & Lasithi Plateau : Zeushöhle, Dörfer, Olivenöl Tour

Marinos was a fantastic guide for this all-day trip to Knossos Palace, Omalia Olive Oil, Zeus’s Cave, and a fabulous Cretan lunch overlooking the plateau. My wife and I enjoyed every minute, including Marinos’s sense of humor. Katerina was our guide through the Palace, and she was outstanding—not only a guide, but an archeologist herself. Highly recommend this tour and guides. Five stars!

Excellent one day trip to get a feel for the area. Marinos was an amazing tour guide. He was knowledgeable and funny. We were a small group in a comfortable van. He provided water and some local snacks. He also put on Cretan music. This trip is best for someone that doesn’t have weeks to sightseeing in an island that has too much to do. Lunch was amazing with great views and probably the cheapest we have paid since coming to Greece.

An absolute recommendation! At the very top of our personal ranking of this tour is definitely our driver Apostolos: courteous, entertaining, likable, and incredibly informative. With his knowledge, his explanations, and his pleasant manner, he made the tour a real experience for us – an absolute asset! Knossos and the impressive testimonies of the Minoan high culture were a wonderful addition to our beach vacation. We also found the fertile Lasithi Plateau particularly worth seeing, which offers a fascinating contrast to the tourist-oriented coastal regions of Crete. As Austrians – admittedly a bit spoiled by caves 😉 – the Zeus Cave did not impress us quite as much. Nevertheless, it is worth a visit and another beautiful example of how incredibly versatile Crete is. Another highlight was the visit to an olive oil press. We received many interesting insights into the production and processing of olive oil and were able to get to know truly excellent quality products. Overall, a varied, informative, and highly recommended tour, where you get to know Crete from a completely different side. And once again, a special thank you to Apostolos, who really made this day special for us!

Our driver, Apostolos was excellent, informative, responsive, very entertaining. Could not have asked for a better guide. In the Knossos Palace we had a local tour guide, Eirini; who was fantastic, very knowledgeable and informative. She was a real pleasure to have at such a historical site.

For our first trip to Crete, we wanted an authentic experience and to learn about the culture. We didn’t want to be with a large group of people and we didn’t really want to do touristy activities but this is something that was a must do!! We received amazing communication with the company and our tour guide was so amazing!! Apostolos was attentive to us, answered questions, explained everything, and gave us a better understanding of the history here in Crete. Even though the tour at Knossos took longer than expected we were not rushed at any point during these activities!! Thank you!

Great trip w/ knowledgeable, entertaining, and kind guide -- Apostolos. Just enough driving to get out to various places, but not so much that it over takes the time to see and do things. The Cretan Starbucks was amazing...

Great experience of Crete highlights. Knossos temple was very impressive and the additional guide for the palace was a worth it. I enjoyed the small historic towns snd the cave of Zeus. The tour ended with a great lunch in a nice traditional restaurant. Our guide Emmanuel customized the trip for us and gave us a lot of background information. We had a great time.
