Maria Luisa and her friend Ilaria provided a wonderful experience that started with a market tour, explanation of what ca be found there and some local history about famous cafés and a pasticceria. Following that we walked to Maria's apartment to begin the cooking class. Maria explained clearly all the steps required to make the dish of the class, tortelloni, a large ricotta & spinach filled pasta. I got to mix the ingredients and get them ready to make the tortelloni. Bruschetta ans lambrusco were served while the dough rested. Maria showed me how to form the tortelloni and I made some. Avsage butter sauce was prepared(tradtional) and I enjoy the fruits of our labor with more lambrusco. It was incredibly delicious. Homemade tisamisu was the finale. Maria Luisa also makes rlher own balsamic vinegar which I got to taste with fresh parmigiano reggiano. Amazing. I enjoyed this tour amd cooking experience immensely. Ilaria was the translator and videographer. She share all the photos and videos and Maria Luisa sent me the recipes. I'll never forget this experience. Grazoe mille Maria Luisa & Ilaria.
Going to the market was an amazing experience!! We learned many things about vegetables and cheeses (and more). Those items were unknown to us in our country. We also were able to taste balsamic vinegar that was 12, and 25 years old. Awesome education. The cooking experience was interesting, but I will probably never create handmade pasta/tortellini again. The tiramisu was fun and delicious. I was under the impression that we were making an appetizer also, but that didn’t happen. Maybe my misunderstanding. All in all, a great experience!
What a delightful experience. Elena was a wonderful host, great teacher and her home was lovely. We walked to the market and had a great experience as she taught us about the various cheeses and we also met with a woman who covered balsamic vinegar. Our group of 4 added to the meal with some cheese, fresh cherries in season and chocolate. Back at her home we prepared a dessert and then the dough for for our pasta. It was great fun learning of her family and life in Italy. The meal was wonderful with wine and we ended on time.
Lovely tour! Great afternoon with wine. Memories forever. Made delicious pasta, wonderful experience
The day started a little confusing. The address took me to the city plaza Duomo with no further directions. It would have been helpful to know that the host would meet me there in the square. The rest of the experience was awesome. We began with a visit to the market to gather a few supplies. The pasta and tiramisu were amazing! I was even given the recipes to take home!
Maria Louisa was wonderful! It was a lot of fun and the food and treats were amazing! She was a great teacher and we had no problem communicating with us having NO italian and her little bit of English. That was part of the fun. We got printed recipes for the tiramisu and her home made ragu that was very tasty. We can't wait to try all of this at home.
Wonderful experience in our guide’s apt. We also sampled some fresh fruit from her garden. Would highly recommend
We had a great experience shopping and cooking. Definitely a highlight of our trip. We learned how to make a yummy Ragu pasta dish along with a delicious apple pie/cake.
Rafaella was amazing! She taught us how to create pasta and tiramisù! The visit at the market was fun, seeing her purchasing fresh products. Luckily we were only 2 and we had the chance to taste different balsamic vinegars. Grazie mille!
Friendly hosts, making pasta, lovely home setting, help with shopping. Enjoyed our conversation. Did this fire fun and it was fun to do!
