The food and tour guide, Farukh was great!
Quiet and quiet place, music in background
We always enjoyed interacting with the locals when we travel and am glad that I found this gem of an experience with Datka travel. The four of us were picked up from our hotel at 4.30pm to Talgat’s family home just outside the main city area around a half hour’s drive away. The place is very spacious with a very impressive garden that has lots of fruit trees, edible plants & even some chickens. We were ushered into the large kitchen & helped Mum to make boorsook, a local fried bread. The plov that we had that evening was the most flavourful that we had across 3 Stans. Talgat’s family was most hospitable & Dad even let us sample some of his own brewed vodka which was rather strong! It was a wonderful experience to spend our time with a local Kyrgyz family exchanging our cultures and having a sumptuous meal together. Thank you Talgat & family for hosting us!
My husband & I truly enjoyed our Kyrgyz family dinner. The family was very warm and welcoming and made us feel like they were honoring us for joining them. The meal was superb with many ingredients from their own garden and fruit trees! We had discussions surrounding every day lives & customs as well as personal experiences & politics. It’s been our best experience to date in Bishkek. Talgat, if you or your family visit the U.S. you will be welcome to visit us in Arizona.
We were picked up right at our hotel and taken to have dinner with a family of five. The home cooked meal with four courses was wonderful. The best part was very engaging family. Discussions varied from sharing basic information to family life to political views. Even a gift was shared at the end of the evening. Our expectations were exceded.
Authentic and heartwarming experience! We were welcomed like family and got to enjoy delicious home-cooked Kyrgyz dishes while learning about local traditions. It felt more like a meaningful cultural exchange than a tour. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a true taste of Kyrgyz hospitality
The family dinner prepared by mum was excellent, freshly made on spot, tastier esp when just out from oven. It is also good that we were given some opportunity to hand on in preparation. The school by father was a bit strong but very good. The guitar abd songs by younger brother was very entertaining. The sharing by ekeest brother and founder of travel agency were excellent for us to understand local culture. I'm short, the hospitality shown by the family were warmly felt in heart. Excellent environment, worth the value!
the kyrgyz family is very nice. They even play guitar and sing a song for us, Tingez a very talented man. Jibek the mother prepared a very sumptuous dinner. Her dish even more delicious compared to restaurant! i love this family!
Dear Ursula, Thank you for another wonderful review! We’re so happy to hear that you enjoyed your Kyrgyz Family Dinner experience. Jibek and her family truly love sharing their hospitality, and it’s fantastic to know you found the meal not only delicious but even better than a restaurant! I completely agree—food prepared with love and within a family setting always has a special warmth that no restaurant can match. It’s great to hear that Tingez’s musical talents added a special touch to the evening—it sounds like such a memorable experience. We’re thrilled that you loved spending time with this amazing family. Thank you again for your kind words, and we hope to welcome you back for more unforgettable moments in Kyrgyzstan! Warm regards, Talgat Founder of Datka Travel
