Reiseverlauf
Die Tour beginnt mit der Abholung von Ihrem Nairobi Hotel / Ihrer Unterkunft. Ankunft in Kiambethu Tea Estate, 11 Uhr, Haupthaus.

My experience at Kiambethu Tea & Coffee Plantation was peaceful, educational, and beautifully refreshing, offering a perfect half-day escape from the city into Kenya’s lush highlands. Experience: The guided tour was insightful, explaining the history of tea farming, the plantation process, and indigenous forest conservation. Walking through the tea fields and forest was relaxing, followed by a freshly prepared tea tasting and farm-to-table lunch. Admission fee: Reasonable and well worth it considering the guided tour, tea experience, and included meal. Length of visit: A half-day experience is ideal, lasting around 3–4 hours, giving enough time to explore, learn, and relax. Atmosphere: Calm, green, and serene with cool highland air and beautiful scenery all around. Crowd size: Small and well-managed groups, creating a personal and peaceful experience. Staff: Friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about tea farming and local history. Best for: Nature lovers, couples, families, and travelers looking for a relaxing cultural and agricultural experience near Nairobi.
What a fabulous place and something I would highly recommend. Fiona was fantastic and a direct link to the start of tea production in Kenya. Very informative and welcoming from all the staff. Great food and drink!
This was a fabulous experience. Verdant tea farms surrounding the farm. Loved the welcoming country home and a colonial feel. Loved the colourful umbrellas that meet your eye as you drive up into the farmhouse. Great reception, clean outdoor toilets and lawns that look evergreen. A forest tour made me re discover that nature has all the answers.
Well worth a visit. About 45 minutes drive from Nairobi. Great talk from Fiona in the actual tea with a picker showing how to pick tea Then back to the house for a cup of tea (or coffee if you really prefer), then a walk in the forest to learn about trees and plants with medicinal properties and colobus monkeys Delicious lunch cooked with home grown products and divine homemade ice cream Good value for money
Best tour in Kenya! I couldn’t have a better moment in Naorobi. The place is beautiful, with a stunning view, gardens and birds that look like paradise. The family is very welcoming, gently and kind, and so the staff. The tea class is fantastic and guided by the most experienced person in the family. The service ir perfect. crockery, cutlery, napkins, all of the best quality. Perfect and artisanal food. from the snacks to the main course and dessert. To top it off, a fantastic tour of the medicinal herb forest guided by its guardian. Fantastic. I would go back a thousand times.
We had a fabulous tour and afternoon with Fiona and her team at the tea plantation. Julius took us on a tour through the forest and we had tea and homemade biscuit’s in the beautiful front room at the house. Lunch was excellent with homemade soup and wonderful dishes all prepared from the garden - ice cream room he dairy farm of Jersey and Guernsey cows… all prepared and overseen by Joseph who is a fantastic chef. Really a team effort and a true experience of Kenya in such a beautiful setting…. Oh and I also set forgot the gardens and birds. Would highly recommend for a family or couples visit and place to spend time away from the hustle of Nairobi.
While this is not a must see while in Nairobi, I found it pretty interesting. It helps that I'm also a tea lover. It takes about 45 mins to get out there from Central Nairobi, so imagine the primary cost is transportation. Once at the farm we got a walk-through what they do, getting to see the beautiful countryside and fields. We also had a brief walk in their nearby protected forest reserve. We learned a little bit about tea and how it's processed although the tour does not include a visit to a tea processing facility, which is off-site. There was also a lovely meal served in their gardens.
I arrived at the hotel at midnight the day before and was looking for something relaxed for the next day and was not disappointed. I was picked up on time by my guide Stephen and was alone on the tour. He was very friendly and helpful and we laughed a lot. The tour itself was very informative and interesting and lunch was very delicious. I can only recommend this great tour to anyone who wants to sleep in and only have a short journey and is looking for a relaxed tour.
I love tea and this tour was not only a stunning change from the bustle of Nairobi city center, but I also learned so much about tea. Fiona and her staff were so welcoming and informative and my guide, Stephen, is so friendly and thoughtful. I forgot to ask someone to take a photo of me while I was feeding a monkey. Stephen anticipated this and took photos for me! All around, such a lovely experience and I'd love to come back.
Thank you so much Gabby177 for giving us an opportunity to serve you and going ahead writing a wonderful review. We are grateful you enjoyed your day out with our guide Stephen. We look forward to meeting and serving you again in the near future. Regards
