Bruddah Cole was an exceptional guide! Very knowledgeable, and a good paddler too! Kayaks were super comfy, stable, and safe. Short paddle up to the pullout area with a fun hike through the forest. Secret Falls is unreal!!! One of my favorite experiences evah! Make sure to bring good hiking sandals, with a closed toe that can get wet. And pack a good lunch. Much mahalos for a great time! Aloha and a hui ho!!!
Definitely a work out. But Nana and the kids(6, 12 and 16) made it! It was beautiful and Kamen was a phenomenal guide! We felt safe and looked out for. I do wish they provided wet bags or at least mentioned the need for them!
We loved our guide and he brought his dog who was a hit on the trail!
We loved the hike and the waterfall. The kayaking was a bit of a challenge since we’ve never kayaked before. Our guide was patient and helpful as we figured out the kayaking. It’s a muddy hike over rocks and tree roots at times. You will also have to walk through running water a few times. Just be sure you are physically able to complete the kayaking and hike. It was all very beautiful! My daughters loved being in the waterfall pool.
Our guide, Kman, is very attentive and knowledgeable. He also strikes a perfect balance between the duration of activities and ensuring the group’s satisfaction. My only suggestion is that the event host provide an additional description of wearing water shoes, as it’s highly recommended.
Had a lovely time kayaking & hiking in beautiful Kauai. The team at Ali’i kayaks did a great job and definitely would recommend this tour for those looking for an active adventure
Kai, and his little dog, Ku, were the best travel guides. The waterfall was absolutely gorgeous and worth the trek to get to. Not ever having been kayaking the kids found it to be a bit strenuous.. You do need to walk in the river and there’s rocks to navigate so a good pair of water shoes, close toed, are highly recommended. All in all, a terrific trip and memorable experience. The tidbits we learned about the island and native plants and animals were fascinating.
This was probably the 2 best thing we did when we were in Kauai for the week. The beauty of the land on the trails were exceptional. The kayaking on the river was nice, however it is work. I feel the guide could have done better and explaining to the group what was coming up and what the flora and fona was and just keeping the group together. Because people were moving at different paces it would be difficult to do. Maybe smaller groups would help or pairing up the groups based on pace. I really enjoyed the whole adventure, I was not as prepared as I would have liked to be on the work it took to get to the location. The walking part was not bad at all infact that was not near as difficult as people made it seem on the reviews. Now the kayaking part was further than it seemed and the water was not moving so it was not easy. It was enjoyable though. Hardly had any time to lay back and enjoy the ride. The water fall at the end of the trail was nice and refreshing. Be prepared for pelting water if you want to go under it. There is no need for hiking shoes, the water shoes with little grip will work great.
We had a great time! I am not an experienced kayaker, but Kahyman was encouraging and helpful! He also led me and my son behind the waterfall- such a great day!
Fun experience and is certainly worth your time and money. The river is slow which made paddling easy and the hike in was easy. We would recommend good shoes because there are some roots and rocks you need to navigate. Also, be sure to bring plenty of water. Our guide, Kia, was amazing and extremely friendly. We hope he is your guide! Enjoy.
