Kauai : Na Pali Coast Super Raft Schnorchel Abenteuer

We had a fantastic time on this boat tour! It was our first day in Kauai and it was an amazing way to see the Napali coast and snorkel in the water there! CJ was a great boat driver and Max made sure everyone had a great time and was feeling good. Highly recommend this tour to anyone traveling to Kauai!

A must-do activity while in Hawaii! Captain J's had a very easy check-in process, with clear instructions and all the things we needed (dry bags, what to bring list, etc.). The driver and guide were amazing (plus the playlist was top-notch!). Despite the sportier weather that day, our crew knew exactly what they were doing and guided us through seamlessly with both safety and humor. The helper even offered me his jacket when my shirt got soaked through by a splash, which was a total lifesaver. Definitely recommend!

Such a great experience! Our Captain No-no & his #2 Canon were true professionals out on the water and made it a fun experience from start to finish. We enjoyed an hour boat ride out to the coastline, an hour boat tour of the NaPali Coast, an hour snorkeling and then an hour boat ride back to the harbor. The boat was great, as was the snorkel gear. They also had bottles of water/Gatorade & snacks for us! We saw a pod of maybe 30-40 spinner dolphins on our boat tour, and we saw a sea turtle swimming below us during our snorkeling time! The boat tour was very informative/historical and the views were truly stunning! The weather was excellent and provided a picture perfect day on the water. A small side note… Due to the natural ocean conditions - expect a good amount of up and down while on the boat. The moments when the boat is stopped during the boat tour probably provided the most instability. I don’t suffer from motion sickness ever. I started out sitting in the 3rd row and felt fine on the ride out. Then about 30 minutes into the boat tour portion - probably due more to trying to take photos/videos while the boat was rocking side to side - I moved to the back of the boat to avoid losing my breakfast. After that I was fine and able to enjoy the rest of the outing. Would recommend taking a Dramamine (or equivalent) prior to going out just as a precaution. You just don’t want to let anything distract from or diminish in any way this amazing experience!! Highly recommended!!!

NoNo and Cannon both AMAZING! Cannon did an excellent job guiding the tour with lots of excellent Hawaiian culture info and threw some laughs in creating an all around great experience! The boating skills of NoNo were top notch! Overall our whole party had an extraordinary experience! So glad we chose Captain Js and we were lucky to have NoNo and Cannon!

The ride out was a little choppy but the views were so worth it. Our guide Matt was very well informed and Ryan, the captain was very professional. We saw a nice variety of fish while snorkeling. Overall highly recommend.

This was an amazing experience! We were not sure what to expect but the raft was large enough so people were not on top or each other but not so large that it felt like a cruise. The raft was fast over waves and comfortable to be on for a long duration (plus there was a toilet). On the 45 minute ride to the cliff we saw a pod of dolphins. The boat sat for awhile so we were able to taking in the beautiful Na Pali coast line. On the way back we went through a cave and finished off with snorkeling. We had a blast and were thankful there was music!

We had a great tour on the “super raft” with Ryan and Max! Ryan did an excellent job as captain navigating small spaces and rough waters and Max did a great job checking in on everyone! Some things to note: -We did the afternoon tour and didn’t see dolphins and had fairly rough water which seems typical for the afternoon. We were still able to go snorkeling and go into two sea caves (open air one and a lava tube). -Very adrenaline filled! You go so fast but you will fill every slam of the boat on the swells. We sat in about the middle (4 rows back). They explained that sitting in the front you’ll feel it most vs the back the least -The feel is more front and back vs. side to side which was actually better for my motion sickness, but there was someone who was quite sick on the tour but seem to be well attended to. -We had 24 people on our tour (out of 28 seats on our boat). It was a nice size to be able to get individual photos and be able to have some room while snorkeling -Size of the boat was nice to be able to get close to the cliffs, navigate under a waterfall (you will get soaked)! -The super raft is super fun! The last 5 mins to the dock was so exhilarating and an unexpected highlight for both of us!

Captain Ryan and Max were excellent hosts. Max went around ensuring everyone felt okay. Definitely use motion sickness medicine before you leave. Sunblock and headache medicine would be helpful also. The views were stunning as described. Raft allows you to go into caves versus catamaran. Highly recommend if you are a family with teenagers and thrill seekers! Must do!
