As soon as we met, Sibu felt more like a friend than a tour guide. It was an amazing experience. His tour evoked a whole array of feelings for us - some sadness about the lasting legacy of some negative aspects of South African history - but mostly positivity like inspiration, hope, basic human kinship. Sibu's tour could be seen as one small step towards bridging gaps between countries, cultures, and wealth disparity.
It’s always a pleasure to do the Langa township tour with Peter and Theo and the Dom Pass museum with Thami. Every year we explore the township with our international students from EM Lyon business school in France, hosted by Stellenbosch Business School. We always receive the same wonderful experience from an amazing team at AAE. Thanks for always welcoming us with open arms.
MT was an awesome guide. He showed us the "local experience' and took us to see areas related to apartheid. We were very interest in local art and he introduced us to several local art galleries. The trip was more than we could have imagined.
The trip with Mthetheleli was absolutely amazing. An experience that was both extremely enriching and completely unforgettable. He made the trip personal from the beginning, and we quickly became well known. We felt safe all the time, and he was just as natural and respectful with us and the people who live there. It made the experience even more genuine and special. The tour is private, so it's just you and the guide. It gives a unique proximity to both the places and the people we met. Highly recommended – an unforgettable experience that really feels like a must do!
We really appreciate your review for African Authentic Experience. We hope to see you again.
Fantastic tour to Langa, Cape Town's oldest township. Hugely impressive and informative to learn the history of its creation. Super guide Sbu. Inspirational. You feel the will to develop further. Walked through the neighborhood with hugely friendly people. You are also in Langa the big differences. Hugely beautiful initiatives from creative people. Tour ended in the cultural center where we got drum lessons and you experience the creativity. Highly recommended.
This township tour was without a doubt the highlight of our entire trip. To anyone even considering doing this tour: DO IT! Sibu did the tour with the two of us, and from the very beginning it felt more like spending time with a friend than being on a typical tourist tour. Conversations were open, personal, and honest, and we gained truly authentic insights rather than a scripted experience. We were picked up directly from our accommodation and felt safe and well looked after at all times. Sibu was incredibly attentive, flexible, and responsive to all our wishes, which made the experience feel very individual and special. We are deeply grateful for everything we were able to experience and learn today. These impressions will stay with us for many years to come, and we couldn’t recommend this tour more highly. Thank you very much Sibu for this wonderful day!
Thank you for the beautiful review. We are humbled and we will continue to provide authentic experiences
For our annual staff Christmas outing we joined Peter and Sibu on an incredible tour of Khayelitsha. It was an enriching experience, where we were able to speak with community leaders and visit an educare centre as well as soup kitchen which are providing invaluable support to the children of the community every day. This is not just a tour - this is a dialogue with change makers who are working hard every day to improve the lives of the youth in their community. We left inspired. Thank you Peter and Sibu for the work you do and for taking us on an unforgettable journey.
Thank you for the beautiful reviews. Giving and being in the community is part of African Authentic Experience core values. We hope to see you again and Happy Holidays.
Great experience! Peter and Timi are great story tellers, experienced and passionate about the history of SA. The experience was very well curated.
Thank you for the review. We are humbled. Hope to see you again
Thank you, guys are energetic, loved all the work you are doing in the community to help those trying to earn a living (crafts, artisans, orphan shelter), thank you for the history story and ofcourse the drumming experience
We appreciate the positive review from you. We are happy that we provided the service that you deserve.
We were able to experience the real story behind the history. We started in the Destrict 6 museum and were blown way by the passionate stories shared with us. After that we went on a to Langa. Peter showed us the wonderful area and individual projects of the people living there. We were inspired by the tales and lifestories shared. Visiting the Lampa courthouse gave insight in the history. We went ro the Lampa community centre , played the djembe drums and finished the tour with a lovely lunch. We recommend doing this tour to see the beauty behind the reality.
We love this. Thank you so much and we hope to see you soon again
