The guides, Nozomi and Yoshiko, did an excellent job in sharing the history, culture, and context of the places we visited, and that made for a richer experience than we could have had by visiting the same places on our own. The guides were timely, organized, and handled the transportation during the tour. They selected sights based on the areas of interest we expressed ahead of time. We visited a gold-leaf business, historic areas of Kanazawa, and a workshop that dyes fabric in the same tradition and method it has used for generations. The guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about answering our questions. Our group ranged from teens to elders and this tour worked well in pace and content. I would highly recommend the guides.
Thank you so much for this thoughtful and detailed message. We’re really happy to hear how much you enjoyed your time in Kanazawa with Nozomi and Yoshiko. It’s great to know they were able to shape the day around your interests and bring so much context and life to the places you visited. We’re especially glad the mix of gold leaf, historic areas, and traditional craft workshops worked well for your group across all ages, and that the pacing felt comfortable for everyone. That balance is something our guides really care about. We’re very proud of both Nozomi and Yoshiko, and we’ll make sure they see your kind words. It will mean a lot to them. Thank you from Kanazawa Tours.
Yoshiko met us at our hotel in the morning and had planned an itinerary of things to do and see around Kanazawa. She was also happy to adapt the tour to things we had already done and seen. She spoke excellent English and was great company. We visited samurai and geisha houses and her detailed knowledge meant that we got a huge amount more out of the experience than if we had visited alone. We also spent time in a kimono studio which was a very special experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Yoshiko and she was also kind enough to send us some photographs that she had taken of the day afterwards. Highly recommended!

Or first night in Kanazawa was a truly special moment during our visit to Japan. We were fortunate enough to be able to not only tour the Geisha district with our amazing guide Nozomi, but to spend an evening with Geiko. The hospitality, conversation and art were truly an experience unlike any other and something my family and I will remember fondly. Nozomi's energy made the evening that much more unforgettable and I am thankful we had such a friendly and spirited facilitator and guide for the evening. If you are able to arrange such a unique experience, I highly recommend it. It really is a rare opportunity. Thank you to Nozomi and Kanazawa Tours.

We were booked on a flexible itinerary, 4-hour tour in Kanazawa. Saya was our guide. She was punctual, very pleasant, knowledgeable and patient, happy to accommodate our request to visit Kenroku-en garden and Kanazawa Castle at a very slow pace. I mentioned that I’d been looking for a particular Japanese cosmetic and that my husband and I wanted to visit a supermarket where we could purchase takeaway lunch. Saya worked a stop at a department store that had both into our allotted time, which helped us enormously!
