Der Jochiji-Tempel, ein ruhiger und gelassener Zen-Tempel, umgeben von Wald, wurde 1281 von Hojo Tokoyori, einem Anführer des Kamakura-Shogunats, erbaut, um seinen früh verstorbenen Sohn zu ehren. Es ist schön, durch das Gelände dieses Tempels zu schlendern und die üppigen Blumenbeete und Bambushainen zu genießen. Denken Sie daran, den Bauch der Statue von Hotei zu reiben, da dies Ihnen Glück bringen soll.

Als nächstes wandern Sie entlang des Daibutsu-Wanderkurses durch die Berge, bis Sie ein mysteriöses Loch im Hang erreichen, das von einem Torii-Tor eingerahmt wird. Wenn Sie durch dieses Loch gehen, finden Sie den Zeniarai Benzaiten Ugafuku Schrein. Der 1185 erbaute Schrein duftet stark nach Weihrauch und ist mit einer seltenen Mischung aus shintoistischen und buddhistischen Denkmälern gefüllt. Erkunden Sie, bis Sie eine kleine Höhle finden, in der eine natürliche Quelle sprudelt. Hier waschen die Menschen ihr Geld im Quellwasser, da sich das im Frühjahr gewaschene Geld im Sommer verdoppeln soll.
Der Legende nach wurde der erste Shogun von Kamakura Minamoto Yoritomo in seinem Traum von einem weißen Fuchs (bekannt als Inari) besucht, der ihm riet, einen Kampf gegen seine Feinde zu gewinnen. Minamoto ging als Sieger aus der Schlacht hervor und baute aus Dankbarkeit den Sasuke Inari-Schrein. In den Bergen, umgeben von dichtem grünem Wald, befindet sich ein Tunnel mit über 100 roten Torii-Toren, genau wie Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto. Der Schrein enthält auch Hunderte von kleinen weißen Inari-Füchsen und den Ort eines alten "versteckten Dorfes".
Der große Kamakura Buddha ist 13,35 m groß und wiegt etwa 121 Tonnen. Der Bau der Bronzestatue Buddhas, wie sie heute erscheint, stammt aus dem Jahr 1252. Sie ist eine der größten Buddha-Statuen in Japan und auf jeden Fall sehenswert. Sie können sogar die große Statue betreten.
Der Hasedera-Tempel befindet sich etwa auf halber Höhe des Kamakura. Der Tempel bietet daher eine hervorragende Aussicht nach Süden über das Meer und den malerischen Strand von Yuigahama. Im Juni und Juli können Sie das Gelände voller blühender Hortensien sehen. In Hasedera befindet sich eine 9,18 m hohe Kannon-Statue mit 11 Köpfen - eine der größten buddhistischen Holzstatuen Japans. Es gibt auch eine kleine, aber gruselige und atmosphärische Höhle, die Sie in den Gärten erkunden können.
Der Strand ist nach Süden ausgerichtet, sodass Sie von diesem Punkt aus immer die Sonne über dem Meer sehen können. Entspannen Sie sich und genießen Sie die schöne Aussicht! Im Sommer gibt es einen Open-Air-Markt namens Umi-no-ie, der sich gut zum Auschecken eignet.

We loved the tour and all the places we visited. We had a rainy day and could not do some of the nature sites, but it was still fantastic. Guide was friendly and knowledgeable.
Our guide Tia was fun, knowledgeable and flexible. This was one of my favorite tours in Japan. It was great to walk to so many beautiful sites. She did a great job communicating with us on questions we had before the tour.

My partner and I had a fantastic tour through Kamakura with Terry. He was knowledgeable and very sociable. The tour was comprehensive but affordable with a relaxed atmosphere. It was simply very fun and informative. I think this tour is best for small groups of 2-5
