The experience was awesome. Moreno was an amazing tour guide and took photos of us during the kayaking. It’s a bit of a workout, almost 6 km of kayaking total roundtrip, but it was very well worth it. Red Island is beautiful and isn’t very full of tourists. I would highly recommend this, especially for the price compared to the kayaking out of Rovinj. Definitely do this!
Great trip on the water. You don't need the big packing. There is good tour on the island - you don't have to take your packing with you. You can come back and snorkel / swim from there it is really fine. We parked on a large p-place at a large campsite/Resort. There is about 1 km through the square. You can park closer, but we couldn't find the way.
Nice mix of kayaking and free time to snorkel/explore the red island or kayak around a smaller island nearby! Did the trip solo and had a great time!
We loved our trip to the island by kayak. We were two adults and two children (10, 14). The guide did a little history of the island as well, and we got to stop for an ice cream (we were surprised that the island has a big hotel on it). Lovely place to swim. Recommend lots of sun protection.
Very nice tour. It starts from the meeting point and heads towards the red island with the sound of pagayate. Once there the Guide explains a bit where to find beaches, bars and restaurants and takes you up a turret to admire the view. Afterwards you can choose whether to stay two hours in the island or to stay one hour and kayak around the other islands (without stopping), and then go back to the starting point. The Guide had was great and the tour pleasant.
We kayaked for about an hour over to “the red island” where the tour leader took us on a tour of the island. He was very knowledgeable & helpful. We then had about an 90 minutes to snorkel, rest, eat (we took a picnic but there is a beach bar). The waters around the island were so clear. We then kayaked back which took less time even with a capsize moment. The tour leader took photos of us whilst kayaking & sent us a link to the photos which was easy to use.
Rovinj Island hotel hosts the Dive centre and Kayak hire , which also rents SUPs. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable - they are genuine and Not trying to rip you off. A Great addition to a lovely holiday
If you want to visit the islands offshore of Rovinj in a more immersive way than riding a tourist boat, this is a great option. Paddling to and from the islands takes about 30 minutes each way from the starting beach area. Convenient free parking is also provided at the resort.
Very limited introduction and poor safety. Instructors/guides unenthusiastic. Equipment was fine. Nice to have snorkeling stop.
You'll kayak about 15 minutes and stop at a beach for a swim and snorkel although there's not much to see under water there. Then you'll kayak for about 30 minutes to the islands. There the guide will bring you to the main part of the island and provide you a Radler. From there you spend 1-1.5 hrs on your own on 2 beautiful islands. Find a spot on the rocks, go for a swim and chill. Walking around both islands takes about 30 minutes. Then you'll kayak back, about 30-40 minutes. We enjoyed the paddle and the views. There is no food provided and you're not with the guide too much.
