We booked this experience the night before and were so lucky to be able to get to go. Everything about it was wonderful—being on the water and experiencing the calm and quiet and beauty of the place. Our guide, Vanessa was knowledgeable and kind and the breakfast was delicious. Now as we head to the airport, we are so glad we were able to have such a lovely sunrise kayak in our last day.
Our group loved our experience! It was all very well coordinated and punctual. We love the history that Vanessa provided, and she was very kind when answering all of our questions. The food was also delicious and served at a beautiful and curated location.
Well organised pick up from our hotel - very early start at 4:00am! But worth it - we were on the water in the dark just before 5am to paddle with the sunrise. Vanessa our guide was great. The route taken depends on paddling experience - better kayakers = more distance covered. We were lucky in that for our group of 3 we were all experienced so got to see more - luck of the draw with a bigger group perhaps. Good breakfast in a garden area next to the water. A peaceful paddle on the outskirts of Mexico City. Dropped back to our hotel in the centre about 10:30am - lengthy hour through the morning traffic - but most of us slept…!
Escape the frenzy of Mexico City to experience tranquility and nature with a dawn paddle. Vanessa is a highly knowledgeable and friendly guide and helps you to understand this magical place… the paddling is beginner level so Vanessa adapted our route for a group of more experienced paddlers so we could see more of the Chinampas and bird life.
My tour guide, Arlette, was amazing and shared important facts, history and legends with me. The whole experience was well coordinated as I was connected the night before and provided with the driver's and car's details. The experience was phenomenal, especially for a nature enthusiast. We kayaked, had an amazing breakfast at a campsite, then kayaked back. We captured a most breaktaking sunrise and I got to see a number of beautiful birds. Highly recommend if you are in town.
We booked the tour, we had to get up at 3:30am, the driver showed up and took us to Xochimilco, but the guide who was supposed to show and take us to the kayaks, never did. We were waiting along with the driver for 1 hour, the driver kept trying to contact the guide (easily 20 calls) and I sent a message to the manager who told me that the guide was on his way, even after been waiting for 50 minutes we still thought innocently that the guide would show up after the 10 minutes that the manager told us, but the guide never showed, I would've really appreciate if the manager told us the truth from the beginning so we didn't have to waste our time and thinking that we'd really do the activity. The manager wasn't able to contact the guide and apparently they didn't have a backup for these situations. We don't know if something happened to the guide (if that was the case, I hope he's ok) but we as clients expect to have a service and the agency is responsible to have backups for this kind of situations, or if the tour had to be cancelled, they could've let us know that the guide wouldn't show up and that the tour had to be rescheduled or canceled. And I was really excited for this experience, I wanted to do it really bad, but I guess next time we'll try with a different agency.
Excellent treatment and care with adventurers.
The sunrise kayak was very beautiful, and the breakfast was a great add on, because it was in a beautiful place!
I liked that we arrived just in time at dawn 😊
I have traveled all over the world and this was one of my top travel experiences. Easy kayaking in canals built by the Aztec and pausing to watch the sun come up. When it came up, the morning mist was burned off and an Aztec platform pyramid was in view. Magic! Everything about the tour was well organized and the guide and driver were great.
