I had Alfredo as my guide and he was great. You can tell that he truly loves to share his countries’ history and culture with guests. Zero complaints and would Definetly recommend this. He took his time and I never felt rushed
I went on this trip imagining an open air Jeep in the jungle and then a nice lunch and the tour of the ruins. It took us an hour and a half to get there and we were in a closed air condition Jeep that was the same as going in a car. The ruins were okay but it was not what I expected and when we stopped for lunch it was just mediocre. I would avoid this trip because I'm sure there's others that are much more enjoyable especially for the price.
Exploring Altun Ha was amazing, but the highlight was the jungle jeep part where I drove the jeep through the jungle to a cave you had to climb up to. My guide was incredible, assisting me along the way and providing me with the knowledge I craved along the way.
I book this trip with a friend and let me tell you : this activity was a highlight of our trip in belize ! Our guide Gabriel was nice, he takes time to explain a lot of things about the country, the history and the maya ruines for example. He also took time to advice us on our next step/activity in the country. He was friendly with us and make us confortable ! While it has rained a lot in the days before we got the activity and the water was coming down from the moutains so the road in the jungle were not so good, Gabriel make sure we could get the most out of this experience by showing us some other routes ! Thats really kind of him. To top it off, at the end of the activity we had a Nice typical belizean dinner. It was so good. If i ever comeback in Belize (which i might) i'd book with Gabriel again ! I recommend :)
Me and my husband took this tour and it was amazing. We went during the off season so it was just us and the guide Jose. Jose was a fabulous guide he was both professional and patient. He offered so much knowledge about Belize. This a must do trip!! Oh and the food was amazing.
Am glade to know you had a great time. Thanks for the review.

We had an excellent time on this tour January 17, 2017. A very friendly guide named Jose met us at our hotel promptly at the time we requested with a big sign with our names on it. It was easy to find him and there wasn't any question about where we were supposed to be. He then drove the four us in his spacious SUV to the Altun Ha ruins where he told us all about the history and culture of the site. Jose really knew his stuff! Then he drove us to his house where we got into 2 jeeps for the jungle part of tour we even got to meet Jose's wife and his two sons Jaden and Miguel. Driving through the jungle was very muddy with deep mudholes along with several muddy crossings as deep as the floor of the jeep. If you choose to drive it's best that you are skilled at driving in mud and pretty extreme offroad conditions. Halfway through we stopped at the cave entrance. Hiking up to the cave was steep and the opening to the cave was small but it was all worth it as we went into descended into 3 separate chambers of the cave and saw all sorts of stalagtites and stalagmites...and BATS! Be in relatively good physical condition to do this. Back at the jeep we finished the drive through the jungle then drove to a large but quiet pavilion for lunch which was already prepared and waiting for us. The local cuisine was outstanding and we could eat as much as we wanted. Marta the cook was wonderful! After lunch we drove back to the city and toured more of the downtown area. Jose was an outstanding tour guide. Not only did he know the city well he also taught us a lot about people of Belize, it's culture, its plants we even tasted a plant used for making allspice trees, and wildlife in the jungle. It was an exciting and unforgettable tour that I would highly recommend to anyone. It was well worth the price.
