We had a driver and a tour guide, Ramon, who is very knowledgeable about tequila. We were picked up at our hotel at 8:30 and our 1st stop was the Campo Agavero Ribeño agave fields in Amititan, where we were presented with a session on the agave growing process, then given a tasting of the some ery good artisinal tequilas. We then visited an artisinal tequila distiller, "Los Tres Tonios," where we had a comprehensive tour of the artisan and modern production facilities followed by an excellent tasting session. We then visited the town of tequila for a delicious lunch. I wish we had a bit more time to experience the town before our tour of the Jose Cuervo facilities. It was a great tour, but not as intimate and detailed as the one at Los Tres Tonios. The entire trip was 9 hours, with 3 hours on the road. I highly recommend this tour. We took a hotel booked tour to Lake Chapala a few days later and it was awful.
Everything was running yesterday. They picked us up at 10:15. No one called us, and when I wrote, they told us to be downstairs right away, and that was at 9:30 AM. The bus was full, so we had to sit apart. Then we arrived at the first distillery for the tasting, and we couldn't stay because we had to rush to José Cuervo to be there by 3. Then they told us that at 5:40 PM sharp, we would leave for Guadalajara, and many people didn't get to eat because the guide stated that we would leave at that time without waiting, but that was not the case. I ended up waiting for some people.

En cuanto a la visita a la primera destilería y el traslado a José Cuervo, el itinerario está diseñado para cumplir con los horarios establecidos por la experiencia y, en ocasiones, es necesario ajustarse a tiempos muy específicos. Aun así, lamentamos que esto haya reducido el tiempo disponible para disfrutar la degustación. Sobre el regreso a Guadalajara, ofrecemos una disculpa si la información respecto a la salida generó incertidumbre. Procuramos mantener los horarios programados, pero en ocasiones debemos esperar unos minutos para asegurarnos de que ningún pasajero se quede atrás. Agradecemos mucho sus comentarios, ya que nos ayudan a identificar áreas de mejora y a brindar una mejor experiencia a futuros viajeros. Very informative in the short amount of time you have. The day flys by and I wish we had more time to simply enjoy the town of Tequila. Ramon was an excellent tour guide and assured everyone had a great time.

I booked the tour well in advance. The tour bus was supossed to pick us up at our hotel. We were waiting outside 15 minutes early and waited 45 minutes. No call no show. Ruined our vacation day. No apologies from the company no offers of restitution. But, they took our money instantly, and when we requested a refund through the app, they said 3-5 business days. What a sham.

Our guide was Hernan he did an excellent job of communicating with us, explaining and educating us not only topics pertinent to the tour but also Mexican culture and the country. He did not rush us and gave us recommendations on a restaurant and what food to order once we arrived in Tequila
Our tequila tour was absolutely amazing, and our guide Ramon made the entire experience unforgettable! He was funny, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain every step of the process in a way that kept us engaged and entertained. The first stop at a family farm with Roberto was a standout—he walked us through how agave is grown and harvested, and his explanations really brought the process to life. The second part of the tour showed us how agave becomes tequila, and the tasting that followed was elegant, informative, and surrounded by beautiful scenery. Ramon’s presentation was spot-on throughout. The final stop was a tour of the charming city of Tequila itself. Definitely take Ramon’s recommendation for lunch and grab a drink at the pavilion—everything there was excellent. The only thing I’d change would be to allow a bit more free time to shop around town, since the schedule gets tight after lunch. Overall, this tour is a must-do for anyone who wants to see the tequila-making process up close, taste incredible drinks, and learn from passionate guides like Ramon and Roberto!
