Die Stadt Johannesburg ist voller Geschichten zu erzählen, vom Goldrausch von 1886 über die dunkle Ära der Apartheid bis hin zum demokratischen Südafrika, das reich an kultureller Vielfalt ist. Jetzt war die Gemeinde Soweto einst die Heimat von Helden wie Nelson Mandela, Desmond tutu, Winnie Mandela, James Mpanza, Yvonne Chaka Chaka – die Liste ist endlos. Dieses Township wird wirklich lebendig und es ist so reich an afrikanischer Kultur und Erbe.

Dieses Nationale Kulturerbe offenbart die Übel des Apartheid-Regimes und umfasst gleichzeitig das neue demokratische Südafrika. Der alte Teil des Gefängnisses wurde abgerissen, um das Verfassungsgericht zu gründen, das unsere Demokratie und die Menschenrechte schützt.
Nachdem wir einige Zeit am Constitution Hill verbracht haben, fahren wir durch Braamfontein und passieren die berühmte Nelson-Mandela-Brücke. Während wir in den inneren Teil der Stadt Johannesburg fahren. Eine Tour durch das Minenviertel und wir lernen mehr über die Goldstadt ''Jozi''
Unsere letzte Station für die Johannesburg-Tour, bevor wir nach Soweto weiterfahren, ist das FNB-Stadion. In Form einer afrikanischen Kalebasse gebaut, ist es das größte Stadion Afrikas.
Es gibt keine Möglichkeit, eine Soweto-Tour zu machen, ohne Fotos mit dem Schild "Willkommen in Soweto" zu machen. Es ist wirklich ein Muss, dass Sie Leute brauchen, die Ihnen wirklich glauben, dass Sie in Soweto waren
Während wir durch Soweto fahren, kann man nicht umhin, den großen Lifestyle-Kontrast neben einer großen Erwähnung zu bemerken, dass man ein wirklich kleines Haus sehen würde. Dies zeigt nur, dass das Leben von Sowetens sehr vielfältig ist, vom Familieneinkommen zum anderen bis hin zur Kultur und dem Erbe. Während wir durch Diepkloof fahren, werden Sie die schönen, schicken Häuser bemerken, die wir diesem Teil von Soweto tatsächlich den Spitznamen "Beverly Hills of Soweto" gegeben haben.
Wir passieren jetzt das größte Krankenhaus Afrikas, das Baragwanath-Krankenhaus. Ursprünglich als Militärkrankenhaus gebaut, ist das Baragwanath Hospital heute ein öffentliches Krankenhaus, das von der südafrikanischen Regierung finanziert wird. Es ist eines der besten Krankenhäuser in Afrika, definitiv kein schickes Krankenhaus, aber es hat einige der besten Spezialisten des Landes.
Wenn wir mit unserer Soweto-Tour tiefer werden, machen wir einen kurzen Abstecher zu den informellen Siedlungen. Das Ziel unserer Soweto-Tour ist es, Ihnen das Gute, das Schlechte und das Hässliche des Townships zu zeigen. Man kann die informelle Siedlung ''das Hässliche der Township'' nennen. Die informellen Siedlungen sind die schlechtesten Lebensbedingungen in der Gemeinde, aber so reich an Liebe, das schönste Lächeln, das ich gesehen habe, sind die Kinder, die in dieser informellen Siedlung leben.
Definitiv eines der wichtigsten Highlights von Soweto. Diese 2 wunderschön bemalten Türme ziehen die Anziehungskraft der Gemeinde an. Es ist ein Muss, dass Sie vorbeischauen und ein Foto machen. Sie bieten auch Bungee-Jumping an diesen Türmen an. Wenn Sie also ein Adrenalinjunkie sind, ist dies Ihr Platz.
Inzwischen sind wir auf einer der berühmtesten Straßen der Welt angekommen. Die Vilakazi Street ist die einzige Straße der Welt, in der 2 Friedensnobelpreisträger gelebt haben, nämlich Nelson Mandela und Bischof Desmond Tutu.
Definitiv ein touristischer Hotspot. Die ehemalige Heimat des Vaters der Nation Nelson Mandela.

Ein weiteres Museum, das die Schrecken des Apartheid-Regimes darstellt. Das Hector Peterson Museum erinnert jedoch an die Schulkinder des 16. Juni 1976. Eine traurige Geschichte, aber sie hat definitiv unsere Zukunft geprägt, damit wir es nicht vergessen
Nach der Museumsführung können Sie die Straßenmärkte erkunden, einen Kuriositätenladen, der wirklich tolle Souvenirs verkauft.

Oh, my God! What a tour! Our guide, Emma, was amazing! She had a lot of knowledge about the history of South Africa and we spoke about everything. We went to everywhere around the city, but the most memorable experience was when we went to Constitution Hill and the Apartheid Museum. I recommend this tour wholeheartedly!

Full day tour with Emmah was just wonderful. Picked up on time and shown around the city by someone who knows it inside out - no better way to learn about a new place. The highlights of central Johannesburg were given time for exploration, then on to Soweto, seeing both the highs and lows of the township. Moving and sobering at times, but never less than an honest experience of the township's people and history - capped by a visit to the Hector Pieterson Museum, to learn about the events of the Soweto uprisings. Challenging at times, but an excellent way to learn about the truth of apartheid and its consequences. Emmah was simply superb - friendly, honest and fun throughout the day - I can't thank her enough.
Emmah was amazing. She knows all the most important facts and takes care about her guests. She is very humorous and she does everything to please her guests, even if they want to get street food. It was a great day for us. We felt safe, welcome and admired her patience with us.
This was a very informative tour that provides you with a detailed blueprint of the historical atrocities of the black South Africans. The tour guide Letlhogonolo “Lawrence” Mabasa was very friendly, patient, accommodating and extremely knowledgeable. Lawrence provided additional tidbits of informative insights for each location associated with the tour. I highly recommend this tour and especially Lawrence as the #1 tour guide for a true authentic experience.
The tour was excellent especially so with the Tour Guide assigned to me namely Lawrence Mapasa. He was patient, knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. I will recommend him to be assigned to me or friends for any future tour. Areas for improvement: 1, Calls to the company's phone numbers need to be picked as much as possible as most of my calls were not picked up until the last minute. 2, Company's call receivers need to be courtesous. I was not impressed with the response I got from the call center. 3, Information needs to be provided as to the days of the week that museums are opened so customers can decide on days to do tours. Overall, the tour was great considering the servuce provide by Lawrence my special tour guide.

It was a wonderful day. I've seen a lot of interesting things. But the most important was my guide Emma and her nice student, Barung.
