Empathy and Information

Goska was an outstanding guide. She is totally knowledgeable about the history of Jews in Poland as well as Warsaw particularly. As a sociologist she was able to meld statistical studies with the human element to really get a grasp of the growth and then near-disappearance of Poland's and Warsaw's Jewish population due to the Nazi invasion. It's very difficult to find Jewish Warsaw due to the almost compkete annihilation so having a wonderful guide to bring you to the shadows is a must. We were grateful to have such a personable and empathetic guide to take us on this difficult journey.

A must-see.... So that history teaches something to today's world, which has so much to learn from the past.

In Warsaw, there are many sites you encounter while walking down the street... This is the quintessential symbol. It is located in front of the museum... it is imposing.... It definitely deserves a visit.

A 'must do' tour.

Albert was a great guide. He had a huge amount of information to share and we learnt alot about the struggles and history of the Jewish people in Warsaw during WW2 . I would highly recommend this tour.

This tour could hardly have been done better.

We participated in the tour through Jewish Warsaw last year in July 2025. And we were genuinely impressed by how well our guide, Gawel, did his job. At the beginning of the tour, it was about early Jewish life in Warsaw, the first settlements, and the political and social circumstances of their lives until the occupation of Poland by the Germans. Together, we then drove from the city center to the area of the former Warsaw Ghetto. Gawel engaged us as participants by repeatedly involving us with questions in his presentation. The ghetto was completely leveled by the Germans when they suppressed the uprising in the Warsaw Ghetto in 1943. Although at first glance there is hardly anything left of the former ghetto, Gawel excellently managed to make the ghetto present at the locations we visited. He worked with narratives, photos, of which only tiny elements remain in today's Warsaw and which we had to rediscover, for example, and with maps of the former street layouts that we visualized together. Occasionally, things suddenly reappeared before our eyes that we had previously only known from our imagination, which we had developed based on an earlier part of his narrative. The presentation of history was virtuosic. Gawel not only understood how to provide an overview of the history of the ghetto, but also to narrate concretely and vividly by detailing specific striking situations, through which one could gain a sense of the character of the horrors inflicted upon the Jews (I think, for example, of how Gawel recounted that the Germans, when they ordered the Jews to leave their homes, imposed upon them the requirement to leave these cleaned and with flowers on the table "for the future Aryan residents." One struggles for words when trying to characterize that). These details are also very important to form a picture of whom one was dealing with among the perpetrators and to develop an understanding of the kind of consciousness they were carrying. In short, I cannot recommend the tour enough and am truly very impressed by it, and I would like to express my heartfelt thanks once again. I would have liked to hear and see even more.
