Die Thanh Toan Bridge ist eine der außergewöhnlichsten Brücken in Vietnam. Kunden, die nach Hue City reisen, haben neben Königsgräbern, der Kaiserstadt Hue und Pagoden auch die Möglichkeit, diese Brücke mit atemberaubendem Blick auf Vietnam zu besuchen. Einigen historischen Dokumenten zufolge folgten im 16. Jahrhundert viele Menschen aus der Provinz Thanh Hoa dem Lord Nguyen Hoang, um nach Thuan Hoa (dem früheren Namen von Hue) auszuwandern. Unter diesen Einwanderern waren 12 Patriarchen, die dieses Gebiet betraten und das Dorf Thanh Toan gründeten. Erst im 18. Jahrhundert begann der Bau der Thanh Toan Bridge. Frau Tran Thi Dao, eine der Nachkommen der sechsten Generation der Familie Tran im Dorf Thanh Toan, spendete eine große Summe für den Bau der Brücke. Die Brücke wurde 1776 erbaut und im selben Jahr fertiggestellt. Neben dem Brückenbau verwendete Tran Thi Thao ihr Geld auch für viele Wohltätigkeitsarbeiten, weshalb sie von den Dorfbewohnern verehrt wurde.
The Elephant Springs Vietnam ist mit Sicherheit einer der schönsten versteckten Schätze Vietnams. Diese natürliche Quelle, die von einem Wasserfall in Süßwasserbecken mündet, liegt 53 Kilometer außerhalb von Hue, etwa 1 Autostunde (in der Dauer inbegriffen). Es ist auch nur 20 Kilometer vom berüchtigten Hai Van Pass entfernt, einer Straße, die von Top Gears Jeremy Clarkson als „ein verlassenes Band der Perfektion – eine der besten Küstenstraßen der Welt“ bezeichnet wird. In den letzten Jahren ist es bei Touristen und Einheimischen als Ort zum Entspannen und Genießen von Bier, Essen und frischem Wasser unglaublich beliebt geworden. Dennoch hat es das Gefühl, unberührt und nicht wie viele andere beliebte Ausflugsziele völlig überlaufen zu sein.
30 Minuten Fahrt zum nächsten Ort (in der Dauer enthalten) Lap An Lagoon, auch bekannt als An Cu Lagoon oder Lang Co Lagoon, ist eine Brackwasserlagune mit fantastischer Naturlandschaft am Ufer der Lang Co Bay in der Stadt Lang Co. Provinz Thua Thien Hue. Dieser Ort ist auch eine von 12 ikonischen Lagunen für die zentrale Region Vietnams! Außergewöhnlich ist auch die Lage der Lagune auf dem Hai Van – Bach Ma Massiv, direkt an der Grenze der nördlichen und südlichen Klimaregionen. Daher liegt die Temperatur der Lagune zwischen 18 und 31 ° C. Es wird auch am frühen Morgen oder frühen Abend ziemlich kühl sein – ideale Zeiten, um die Lang Co Lagune zu besuchen.

Etwa 1 Stunde 15 Minuten Fahrt. Die Marmorberge sind eine Gruppe von fünf Kalksteingipfeln, die sieben Kilometer von der Innenstadt von Da Nang entfernt liegen. Die fünf Karste (auf Vietnamesisch Ngu Hanh Son genannt) sind nach den fünf Elementen benannt: Kim (Metall), Thuỷ (Wasser), Mộc (Holz), Hoả (Feuer) und Thổ (Erde). Über Jahrhunderte hinweg hatten die Marmorberge eine besondere Bedeutung für die Menschen in Zentralvietnam. Die alten Cham verehrten die Karste als spirituelle Stätte, und vietnamesische Kaiser aus Hue und legendäre Generäle, die durch bezahlte Besuche zu den Gipfeln kamen, trugen zu ihrem Legendenschatz bei. Heute beherbergen die Marble Mountains ein Netzwerk aus Höhlen, Tunneln, Türmen und Pagoden, die von Mahayana-Buddhisten und den Königen der Nguyen-Dynastie erbaut wurden. Die Strukturen und Schreine fügen sich harmonisch in die Natur ein: Weinranken tropfen von oben, Frangipani- und Poinciana-Bäume lassen ihre Blüten auf die Steinpfade fallen und die verzierten Dächer der Pagoden funkeln in der tropischen Sonne. Es ist eine Umgebung, die leicht die Fantasie anregt.

Fantastic tour in old Jeep. Took us to various sites, the best being the waterfall. My daughter and I really enjoyed the day. It’s a long days trip, with lots of stop offs and a chance to enjoy the countryside and scenery, and we really felt Like we got off the beaten path.

Great day. Drivers were very friendly, tour included lots of activities- local market, fishing village, lovely swim in a fresh waterfall, great seafood lunch on the beach. Drive over Hoi Van pass was good although unfortunately it was smoggy. Transfert to a car at the top for a visit to Marble Mountain. Would thoroughly recommend this day trip

I traveled with Tiger and Lu from Hoi An to Hue by a vintage 1969 US Army Jeep (M151 MUTT). What a memorable way to transfer from one city to another in Vietnam! in the morning, I was picked up by Tiger at my homestay in Hoi An in an SUV. Hoi An supposedly does not allow the Jeep in the old town. We drove north to the Marble Mountains in Da Nang. I had about 40 minutes to climb the steps or take the elevator up to Mount Thuy. I did the uneven steps up and the smooth and fast elevator down. Interesting Buddhist sanctuaries built into the marble cliffs and grottoes. Great views over the city. Next and off the mountain, we briefly visited a very large marble statue store selling very large to very small statues. We mostly walked through the showroom but I was not really interested in marble souvenirs (Vietnamese made? Chinese? I wasn't sure...) - bring on the Jeep! In the SUV, we drove to the top of Hai Van Pass for a quick visit to the historic buildings and the overlook, and then my luggage and I transferred to the 1969 Jeep with Lu at the wheel. The ride was comfortable and mostly open-air as we had a fine partly-sunny day. I took some photos near the stops that Jeremy, James, and Richard made in 2008, and then we carried on downhill and into a small town for lunch at a restaurant overlooking the crashing waves of the East Sea (aka, South China Sea). Next, it was back into the Jeep and up the coast to some countryside areas (rice fields) south of Hue. We also went back into the hills for a visit to a beautiful waterfalls in Bach Ma National Park. I was invited to swim but declined as the weather was a bit breezy and cool. Finally, we drive into the city of Hue to my hotel just northwest of the Imperial City. Lu was both my tour guide and very capable driver in the Jeep. I felt perfectly safe and happy with his obvious driving expertise. This was a great day trip. It's definitely not the cheapest or fastest way to get from Hoi An to Hue (take the train for that), but it is hands-down the most memorable. Thanks guys. What a great day we had for our Jeep transfer. Sadly the weather was terrible - very wet and foggy, which detracted from the views we expected, but we had a great day. We also booked a Jeep for our son and his girlfriend, so they could do the trip with us. Our drivers, See (Quang) and Peter were so friendly and had so much information to give and tales to tell. The 1965 army jeeps were full of character! It was a bit chilly in the damp but we were under cover and enjoyed the ‘natural air conditioning’! We made stops along the way - after a tour of Hue which was good- Tam Giang Lagoon to see fishing boats, a waterfall in a national park, and enjoyed a lunch stop at Lang Co beach at a fish restaurant on stilts over the windswept beach. The food was amazing - a big seafood buffet . From there we started up the Hai Van Pass. Sadly we didn’t get views as we went but once at the top the clouds briefly parted so we could see the coast, and Da Nang below. After coffee we started the descent. Said goodbye to our drivers and swapped to a lovely big car for a stop at Marble Mountain for a look at the temples, before being dropped off in Hoi An. Travelling in an old army jeep was fun. The drivers were great. Just a shame about the weather! Would definitely recommend the experience.

The trip was awesome we were picked up from our Hotel in the jeep The drivers Lou & Mosiquito were fantastic communicated well and looked to be having a good a time as we were. Nothing too much trouble stopping to take photos whenever we wanted The stop at the market was good as Lou walked round with us explaining all the local produce Next stop briefly at a local fishing village that we would never have found ourselves The waterfalls were amazing we were able to swim on January the water not too cold Seafood lunch was spectacular on a bamboo pier with the sea beneath us all the food was local and tasty The climb up the Hai Van Pass was great in the jeep with the open sides you had a view of the bay on one side and the Mountains and waterfalls on the other
