Well worth the trip. The minor basilica is beautiful and the story behind it is very touching. I have heard various versions of why the Madonna is black but here when you visit you get more details.
5/5. Our driver and guide Piotr could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Piotr was very engaging, showing interest in our family story and how we came to visit Poland. He was very conscientious, friendly and informative. He offered suggestions for other sites or tours and even made restaurant recommendations. Very pleased with our visit to this historic and sacred site. It was on our bucket list.
The place itself is beautiful. The problem is with the servicing agency, AB. We booked the tour and paid. When they went to pick us up, they wanted to charge 100 extra euros because THEY did not have enough persons. Finally we were able to go without paying extra. We contacted VIATOR and let them know… we should not be make responsible for the tour agency operating procedures…..
