They give you shoes and arctic overalls but with -30 I caught it’s still cold. The visor of the helmet is frozen and you can see little, luckily I had ski goggles and I saved myself. For the rest nice fire and sausages. The Australian-born Jerry guide was extraordinary.
The trip was well organised and the host extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. We enjoyed every second of it!
Great trip, really lovely guides, such a nice surprise also with all the midnight cooking and treats and snacks. Communication could have been slightly better namely explain and update the customers during the trip about what's going on, what's next, etc. There were few stops where some didn't know what's happening or what's next and the whole group got split into individual families / couples groups chatting between themselves in the dark. Stunning experience nonetheless. Really lovely people so well recommended
It is a really good way of getting out and seeing the beauty of Finland in a unique and fun way. The experience was amazing.
We went to a great spot to see the lights and had a fun time riding the snowmobile. We were actually out for closer to 6 hours in total and were kindly dropped back to our accommodation after. Would have appreciated some more explanations of what to expect from the guide. We never found out his name and weren't informed we would be in the van for 45-60 minutes or so before we got to the spot we would ride the snowmobiles. Luckily we took our own gloves and layers to put on dor the ride and after or we would have been very cold. The stop off in the hut with the fire, hot drinks and snacks was very welcomed and timed well while there were less visible lights to see.
Actually this is a short Safari near the santa claus village. The snowmobile is quite cool, with two experienced coaches who will guide you how to ride the mobile. However, the overall arrangement is not too smooth that the welcoming staff is not familiar with what he should do. And we wait for an hour to take the van to the snowmobile location.
It is a nice long drive through the arctic tundra. It was cold but the gear provided it good to help fight the cold. The stop for snacks was lots of fun, tasty, and good to warm up. Did not see the northern lights but a beautiful star filled sky was a great substitute.
Unfortunately, this tour could not meet our expectations, which we also had through the actually positive reviews. Our guide seemed stressed and nothing was prepared, which means a lot of time was lost due to preparations like dressing everyone who went on the tour, ridding the snowmobiles of snow and ice, etc. As a result, the entire tour was only 2 hours long and the limitation duration of 5 hours was taken very strictly (we were even back at the starting point earlier). In addition, it was relatively impersonal overall and one had the feeling that the guide would rather get the tour over with quickly. There was also little time taken to take pictures. The snowmobiling was a lot of fun, however. The price-performance ratio was unfortunately not right for us.
Snowmobile safaris are pricy compared to car tours! One snowmobile costs about 12 - 20 thousand euros. We offer different snowmobile safaris from one hour driving time to one week ultra long safaris!
This tour was perfect! The entire experience was so much more than I could have expected. Spending the night out in the quiet Arctic night, speeding over a frozen lake on a snowmobile, watching the northern lights dance across the sky, cooking hot dogs over a fire in a teepee was all unforgettable. And our guide felt like he was the best friend that we just hadn't met before this moment. This filled my heart with the memory of this time experiencing Finland.
Thanks! Have a nice time!
Had a wonderful experience on this trip. The guide was friendly, considerate, and helpful, especially with snowmobiling safety. We got lucky to catch the lights even though it was cloudy. The only downside was my passenger bounced around on the back of machine, as the trails are very rough. However, we believe this was due to the machine's suspension not being set up correctly, and the guide said they would take care of it before sending it back out. The provided gear was warm enough, but we had multiple layers underneath. The campfire and small BBQ were a nice touch. Would recommend.
Thanks for the nice review!
