Great expereince and great Tour !! Hands down Leo was a great guide! visited different sites and got more information than was waiting!
I visited this synagogue in December as part of a half day tour with a superb guide. We spent an hour in the museum and from there walked over to Leopoldstadt where there are dozens of landmarks, plaques, and history. Also went to the Shoah Memorial. My guide was great: walter.juraschek@gmail.com. Very informative and charming.
My husband and I did a walking tour of Jewish Vienna with Leo. He was extremely knowledgeable and a walking encyclopedia of facts and stories. He intertwined his family life and experiences on modern Judaism into the tour. He speaks English, Russian, Spanish, as well as German and Hebrew. We loved it and highly recommend!
Great insights into Jewish Vienna I did not know about, even though I grew up here. Leonid was funny, entertaining and really knew how to bring the great insights in an interesting manner. We really enjoyed ourselves and have already recommended him to friends and family who visited. Here has several tours and we are thinking of making a second tour, about parts that we did not get to cover the first time around. Really two thumbs up! Everybody would enjoy themselves.
Although I’m not a native English speaker, I have joined a group of friends while they were here for a short vacation to Leo’s tour. As an Israeli living in Vienna, i was impressed with Leo’s knowledge about Jewish Vienna. For me as a “local” it was very enriching. I can say that now I know not only more about the Jewish history of the city but also more about my self...
I contacted Leo after seeing his website and I have to say it was quite an experience. I had no idea about the vibrant Jewish history of Vienna through the centuries.
It was easy to contact Leo and he was very responsive and flexible in arranging the tour. He is very knowledgeable and will easily customize the tour to your level and interest. He answered all our questions and pointed out sights along the way that we would have never found ourselves. Thanks to him we had an interesting, educational and entertaining tour. I highly recommend Leo as your tour guide in Vienna.
We had an excellent tour by Leo. It was rich with historical facts, informative, covered different periods of Jewish life in Vienna up until our days, within the context of Austrian non-Jewish life in general. We strongly recommend this Jewish Tour to anyone who wants to know how Jews used and continue to live in Vienna. Arkady
Leo was a warm and engaging tour guide. He picked us up promptly and addressed all of our requests. He is very knowledgeable about the Jewish history in Vienna. He is very responsive to e mails and texts. We would recommend him as he is experienced in a variety of Jewish tours.
Leo is truly an encyclopedia of knowledge about Jewish history in Vienna and even beyond. We saw everything in a fairly short amount of time including the oldest surviving synagogue in Vienna, which was beautiful. Even my three kids ages 11, 9 and 8 enjoyed the tour and were able to walk as much as we did. He can customize the tour to your needs and time constraints. I’d strongly recommend Leo to anyone interested in a waning tour of the main city with a district Jewish lens.
