Während dieser Führung werde ich Sie durch die Erinnerungen an das jüdische Coimbra führen. Die ersten Anzeichen der jüdischen Präsenz in Coimbra stammen aus dem 10. Jahrhundert, was durch die Transaktion von Grundstücken in einem nahe gelegenen Dorf signalisiert wurde. Wir wissen, dass später, während der Herrschaft von D. Afonso Henriques, dieser Gemeinde einige Garantien und Grundstücke gewährt wurden, die sich bis zum 16. Jahrhundert über das gesamte portugiesische Territorium erstreckten. Dies ist mehr als nur Gebäude oder materielle Zeugnisse der jüdischen Präsenz, es ist eine Tour durch die reiche Geschichte und Kultur dieser Gemeinde.

We needed to cancel our trip because of illness. We contacted the wholesaler directly to ask for a refund because this was what TripAdvisor suggested. They refused. Saying they did not have enough notice though the normal Tripadvisor policy says that 48 hours is sufficient. Never use this organization if you are concerned about possible cancellation.

This is a policy stated in the reservation conditions, which every client should read before making the payment (as in any contract), so unfortunately you didn't read about it upon reservation. Our tour guide was excellent and the tour included recent finds that have yielded even more information about Jewish history in Coimbra.
Eva was well versed on the Jewish history in Coimbra as well as general history of the city. A lot of walking but she tries to find area that are not as steep. Throughly enjoyed!!

Sara is an outstanding guide who provides a fantastic tour. She is extremely knowledgeable and can answer questions with examples from the latest historic research. Before the tour, we had walked around and thought we had seen a lot. Walking with Sara, we realized we had missed so much of Jewish and local history which she expertly tied together. Sara is additionally very personable which made our tour not just fascinating but also very enjoyable.
