Nach der Begrüßung fahren Sie nach Ephesus. Nach 50 Minuten Fahrt erreichen Sie Ephesus. Das Haus der Jungfrau Maria befindet sich in den Aladag-Bergen, 8 km von Ephesus entfernt. Auf dem dritten Ökumenischen Konzil 431 n. Chr. in Ephesus wurde behauptet, Maria sei 37 n. Chr. mit dem Hl. Johannes nach Ephesus gekommen und habe dort bis zu ihrem Tod 48 n. Chr. gelebt. Nach der Entdeckung des Hauses erklärte der Erzbischof von Izmir dort als Wallfahrtsort im Jahr 1892. Am 26. Juli 1967 besuchte Papst Paul VI. diesen Ort und betete dort.
Wir halten am Artemission-Tempel, der einst eines der sieben Weltwunder der Antike war, bevor wir zurück nach Izmir fahren.

We loved everything! The wishing wall, and the outdoor chapel space were wonderful! The impromptu visit to the carpet place ended up well for my friend. She got a great piece of art for her future home. Inan was fantastic: so well-informed and knolwedgeable.
