Wir verlassen Bari um 8:30 Uhr und begeben uns auf eine Tagestour, um drei Juwelen des Itria-Tals zu entdecken. Polignano a Mare ist eine Küstenstadt, die für ihre steilen Klippen und das kristallklare Wasser der Adria berühmt ist. Das historische Zentrum mit seinen engen Gassen, Torbögen und blumengeschmückten Balkonen bietet einen herrlichen Blick auf Strände wie Lama Monachile. Hier machen wir einen 2,5-stündigen Zwischenstopp. Ostuni, die „Weiße Stadt“, liegt auf einem Hügel mit spektakulärer Aussicht, und ihr historisches Zentrum ist ein Labyrinth aus Gassen, in denen weißgetünchte Häuser eine einzigartige Atmosphäre schaffen. Wir laden Sie ein, die Ihnen zur Verfügung stehenden 2,5 Stunden zu nutzen, um typische Gerichte der Region zu probieren. Schließlich ist Locorotondo berühmt für sein kreisförmiges Zentrum, die mit Blumen geschmückten weißen Häuser und die „Cummerse“, die typischen schrägen Dächer. Von hier aus genießt man einen herrlichen Blick auf die Weinberge und Olivenhaine, die für ihre lokalen Weißweine berühmt sind. Wir machen einen 1,5-stündigen Zwischenstopp in Locorotondo. Nach einem Tag voller Entdeckungen kehren wir um 19:00 Uhr nach Bari/Polignano zurück.

Polignano: Polignano ist der Geburtsort des Sängers Domenico Modugno, der mit seinem „Nel blu dipinto di blu“ berühmt wurde. Polignano fasziniert mit dem historischen Zentrum, das reich an arabischen, byzantinischen, spanischen und normannischen Spuren ist, wie beispielsweise die Überreste der vier Verteidigungstürme, die es umgaben der antike Teil der Stadt. Ein kristallklares Meer und ein mit beeindruckenden, vom Meer gegrabenen Felsen übersäter Fels sind die charakteristischen Merkmale von Polignano a Mare, bekannt als „Perle der Adria“, etwas mehr als 30 km von Bari entfernt.
Ostuni, bekannt als die „Weiße Stadt“, ist ein charmantes apulisches Dorf, das auf einem Hügel liegt und spektakuläre Ausblicke auf die umliegende Landschaft und die Adria bietet. Sein Hauptmerkmal ist die Architektur seiner Häuser, die alle weiß getüncht sind und ihr ein einzigartiges und bezauberndes Aussehen verleihen. Im Zentrum von Ostuni erhebt sich majestätisch die Kathedrale Santa Maria Assunta, ein Meisterwerk romanisch-gotischer Architektur. Die mit einer prächtigen Rosette geschmückte Fassade der Kirche und der mit Fresken und Details reiche Innenraum repräsentieren eine der wichtigsten Kultstätten der Stadt. Von der Kathedrale aus gibt es Zugang zu einer Reihe von Straßen, die zu Panoramaterrassen führen, von denen Sie eine atemberaubende Aussicht genießen können. Im Herzen von Ostuni befindet sich auch die Piazza della Libertà, ein lebhafter Treffpunkt umgeben von Cafés und Restaurants. In der umliegenden Landschaft können Sie in die jahrhundertealten Olivenhaine eintauchen, die das landwirtschaftliche Herz der Region darstellen.
Locorotondo: Dies ist für sich genommen eines der schönsten Dörfer Italiens und wurde vom Touring Club für die Harmonie seiner Formen und die Nutzbarkeit seines historischen Zentrums mit der Orangenen Flagge ausgezeichnet. Besonders die prächtigen weißen Hütten, die engen Gassen mit lokalem Steinpflaster („Chianche“) und die eleganten Portale werden Sie faszinieren. Aber nicht nur das: Eine weitere Besonderheit von Locorotondo sind die Häuser mit regelmäßiger geometrischer Form und einem schrägen Dach, das aus zwei Dachschrägen aus Kalksteinplatten, den „Cummerse“, besteht. Mittlerweile werden diese Häuser renoviert und den Besuchern in Form von weitläufigen Hotels angeboten.

The bus will.take you to the 3 villages and give you documentation for you to go and walk around. Comfortable bus.
Bus is always in time, way for the group. It clean, there are mineral water that you can buy in the bus. The guide is telling most important things about the villages… and sounds very pleasant music during the trip.
This was a non guided tour but it got you to great destinations without messing with trains and buses.
very good value for money,clean air conditioned tour bus,very well explained, driver tells you what time and place the pickup point is,you get decent amount of time to explore area/town,be aware,no tour guide...self guided tour, would recommend to everyone. Only drawback we had was 2 loud ladies who were late returning in bus at last town,made all of us wait 25min. I would suggest the bus driver give passengers 15min max grace period to be late if not contacted and given valid reason!
I would not call this a tour…it was merely bus transportation. A booklet was provided in your choice of language with instructions to download a map of the different cities however our phones were not functioning and we were left without any info. There was no guide, the driver could not speak English, and we were dropped off in a railway station without a word.
It is really hard to get to Ostuni by bus or train with convenient arrival and departure timing. So this tour was perfect. The drop off locations were convenient and easy to get back too. The time at each city was good, we had enough time to walk to every area we wanted and also to enjoy a meal or snack. The bus was comfortable and the driver was nice.
Polignano is a beautiful city. Unfortunately the information in the brochure for where to meet the bus was incorrect. However once they were contacted the information was quickly sent to us. Ostuni and Locorotondo were OK, but less time at these two places would be better. I am glad we visited these towns although the self tour was somewhat confusing. Seeing more of the area on the drive was very interesting. All in all it was an acceptable tour.
Nice day except for the music on the bus. The speaker was above us and it was too loud and scratchy noise from a bad station connection. Be sure to have a phone connection for directions to get back to the bus after out walking around. The views were beautiful and everything very interesting. Take a tuk tuk in Ostuni. You will see a lot more.
The organisation of this tour was excellent. Easy online booking and directions for the departure point in Bari. Despite the awful weather forecast (we bought a couple of ponchos on the bus - well used during the tour) the tour was really enjoyable. I might have preferred to visit Monopoli rather than Polignano (following Lolita Lobosco scenes) . The day was long but it was an excellent way of seeing a lot of Puglia in a short space of time without the hassle of driving, parking etc. The booklet and downloadable guide were useful but the pre-recorded commentary on the bus got a bit tedious and on this particular tour the sound system on the bus was poor - buzz at high volume and particularly bad when music was playing. Would I recommend this tour ? Definitely. And also the Alberobello and Matera tour which we did later in the week.
