Die Hagia Sophia (Aya Sofya) ist eine wirklich beeindruckende, 1.400 Jahre alte byzantinische Kathedrale, in der Mosaike, Relikte und Eisenarbeiten ausgestellt sind. Die Hagia Sophia war fast tausend Jahre lang der größte geschlossene Raum der Welt und gilt immer noch als eines der wichtigsten Baudenkmäler der Welt. Es ist eine der beliebtesten Attraktionen der Türkei, die durch das schiere Schauspiel seiner Größe, Architektur, Mosaike und Kunst angezogen wird. Es wurde während der Regierungszeit des byzantinischen Kaisers Justinian im 6. Jahrhundert n. Chr. Erbaut. Es wurde kürzlich in eine aktive Moschee umgewandelt
Hippodrom-Platz aus der Römerzeit, ägyptische, römische und griechische Obelisken
Blaue Moschee (Sultanahmet-Moschee - Camii), erbaut während der Regierungszeit von Sultan Ahmet I. zwischen 1609 und 1616. Es ist die einzige Moschee in der Türkei mit sechs Minaretten. Aufgrund seiner prächtigen handgefärbten blauen, grünen und weißen Iznik-Fliesen wurde es von Europäern als "Blaue Moschee" bezeichnet. Die zentrale Kuppel ist 43 m hoch und hat einen Durchmesser von 33,4 m. Es verfügt auch über 260 Fenster.
Der Große Basar (Kapali Carsi) ist mit mehr als 58 überdachten Straßen und über 1.200 Geschäften einer der größten und ältesten überdachten Märkte der Welt. Es wurde 1461 eröffnet und ist bekannt für seine Schmuck-, Keramik-, Gewürz- und Teppichgeschäfte. Viele der Stände auf dem Basar sind nach Art der Waren gruppiert, mit speziellen Bereichen für Ledermäntel, Goldschmuck und dergleichen. Der Basar enthält zwei Betten (gewölbte Mauerwerkskonstruktionen zur Lagerung und sicheren Aufbewahrung), von denen die erste zwischen 1455 und 1461 im Auftrag von Sultan Mehmed dem Eroberer errichtet wurde. Der große Basar besteht aus 12 Hauptgebäuden und hat 22 Türen.

I was on a long transit and decided to do a tour. I did not regret it. My tour guide Emre ÖNAL was well spoken in English and spot on with time management. He was also knowledgeable. If I had stayed longer would have definitely booked more experiences with the same company. Most importantly, as a woman traveling alone I felt exceptionally safe with Emre. Thank you!! The walking tour is spectacular but be prepared to walk and don’t wear shorts. The guide was very knowledgeable and thorough. It’s a great tour! Highly recommended

Absolutely recommended!!!!!After initial difficulties (had problems with the meeting point -Ali was waiting for us though! ) we had an individual eventful tour! In addition to the sights, we also saw a pottery and had an insight into the carpet weave. Our guide Ali is highly recommended, has a great knowledge and many insider tips!
