Wenn Sie Istanbul zum ersten Mal besuchen, bietet Ihnen dieser kulturelle und kulinarische Rundgang durch Istanbul detaillierte Informationen zu dem, was ich als „das Wesentliche des Istanbul-Erlebnisses“ bezeichnen kann. Wir werden einige der berühmtesten Wahrzeichen Istanbuls besuchen und ihre historische, architektonische und soziale Bedeutung verstehen. Wir werden auch einige lokale Gerichte probieren, darunter (jedermanns Lieblings-) türkische Desserts. Ich werde meinen Gästen einige der weniger bekannten und wenig beachteten Details zu jeder Sehenswürdigkeit erklären. Das Erlebnis kann im Einvernehmen aller Teilnehmer individuell gestaltet werden.

Dieser entspannende und schöne öffentliche Park war einst Teil des Topkapi-Palastes und ist mehr als nur ein Erholungsgebiet. Dieses Gebiet spielte eine sehr wichtige Rolle in der Geschichte Istanbuls, aber auch der türkischen Republik. Im April ist er voller Tulpen. Im Mai werden die Tulpen durch Rosen ersetzt. Zu jeder Jahreszeit sieht er auf seine eigene Weise erstaunlich aus.
Der erste seiner Art, der Sultan-Ahmed-Brunnen vor dem Topkapi-Palast, ist an sich schon ein elegantes Denkmal. Umgeben vom Topkapi-Palast und der Hagia Sophia bekommt dieser Brunnen selten die Aufmerksamkeit, die er verdient. Wir werden seine Verzierungen aus der Tulpenzeit mit besonderer Aufmerksamkeit untersuchen und ihre Auswirkungen auf die Stadt verstehen.
Die Zisterne Yerebatan (Basilika) ist ein römisches Wasserbauwerk aus dem 6. Jahrhundert und das größte seiner Art in Istanbul. Mit endlosen Säulenreihen hat es ein einzigartiges Aussehen. Es gilt als Top-Sehenswürdigkeit in Istanbul. An verkehrsreichen Tagen kann es zu einer Wartezeit von 30 Minuten kommen.
Dieses Meisterwerk osmanischer Architektur aus dem 17. Jahrhundert ist eine der Top-Sehenswürdigkeiten in Istanbul. Ihr Inneres ist eines der glamourösesten Beispiele osmanischer Moscheen. Es ist mit Tausenden von Kacheln und umfangreichen Federarbeiten verziert. Vom Außenhof bis zu den Innenecken bietet diese Moschee mehrere elegante Beispiele des türkischen Kunstgeschmacks des 17. Jahrhunderts.
Der Sultanahmet-Platz ist das antike römische Hippodrom und beherbergt einige der ältesten und wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten Istanbuls. Zu diesen Sehenswürdigkeiten zählen der Ägyptische Obelisk, die Schlangensäule, der Freimaurer-Obelisk und der Deutsche Brunnen. Jeder von ihnen hat seine eigenen faszinierenden Geschichten und nicht leicht zu bemerkenden Aspekte, die ich bei unserem Besuch gerne mit Ihnen teilen werde.
Die Hagia Sophia Moschee in Istanbul ist eines der Meisterwerke der Weltarchitektur und ein UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe. Dieses Gebäude aus dem 6. Jahrhundert enthält künstlerische Gegenstände und architektonische Merkmale aus der römischen, byzantinischen und osmanischen Zivilisation. Es ist ein Muss in Istanbul, aber aus diesem Grund gibt es lange Warteschlangen, die zu einer Wartezeit von 1-2 Stunden führen können. (Sollten meine Gäste es vorziehen, das Gebäude nur von außen zu besichtigen, um nicht in einer langen Warteschlange zu stehen, kann ein alternatives Ziel hinzugefügt werden)
Als Schlüsselstadt der Seidenstraße und der Gewürzstraße verfügt Istanbul über einige der besten mittelalterlichen Basare der Welt. Der Große Basar und der Ägyptische (Gewürz-)Basar gehören noch immer zu den lebhaftesten Geschäftsgebäuden in Istanbul. Je nach persönlicher Vorliebe meiner Gäste können wir einen oder beide davon besuchen. Der Große Basar ist sonntags geschlossen.
Obwohl die Blaue Moschee aufgrund ihrer Lage im Herzen der Altstadt die meistbesuchte osmanische Moschee in Istanbul ist, sind mehrere andere Moscheen aufgrund ihrer historischen Bedeutung und architektonischen Aspekte einen Besuch wert. Insbesondere die Beyazit-Moschee weist sehr interessante Merkmale auf, die in Istanbul einzigartig sind. Wir werden einen Blick auf ihre farbenfrohe Dekoration aus dem Jahr 1505 werfen.

Istanbul is an incredible city on its own, but exploring it with Unsal made the experience unforgettable. From the moment our tour began, he brought every site to life with his deep knowledge, engaging stories, and genuine passion for the city’s history and culture. He guided us through iconic landmarks including the Blue Mosque, Ayasofya, the Grand Bazaar, and even the atmospheric underground Basilica Cistern—famous for its appearance in the James Bond film From Russia with Love. At each stop, Unsal shared detailed insights that helped us appreciate not just what we were seeing, but the centuries of history behind it. What made the day even more special were the thoughtful touches he added along the way. He led us to a beautiful courtyard café for a relaxing break, and later to a traditional restaurant where we enjoyed an authentic Turkish lunch—places we never would have found on our own. Unsal was friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. His storytelling made the city’s past feel vivid and alive, and his enthusiasm was infectious. If you’re visiting Istanbul and want a guide who truly elevates the experience, I can’t recommend Unsal highly enough.

We had an excellent day with Unsal. He met us at our hotel. We visited the “essentials” and more. He gave lots of information (he’ll tailor depending how much you want to hear); told us history and made loads of recommendations for the rest of our stay. We ate meatballs (Turkish favourite) and later, baclava in an artisan tea house. We have had a day to remember, highly recommend this tour. 🙏🏻
We had the most memorable tour with Unsal. He has expansive knowledge of Turkish history and culture. We learned a lot of interesting facts . He provided us with detailed explanations of everything we saw. Unsal was extremely accommodating. He met us at the hotel and we started the tour right away. He has a wonderful gentle personality and made us very comfortable throughout our long hours together. He is a great storyteller and very good photographer also. He sent us all good pictures that he took. We spent wonderful day with Unsal. His tour was excellent!!! We are very grateful and have the best memories of our time together!

Unsal was a really exceptional guide. Very professional and extremely informative. Would highly recommend. We toured these spots: Hagia Sophia, Basicalla Cistern, Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, and Grand Bazaar Lot of walking history around the highlighted areas above. Unsal was also very helpful with recommendations for restaurants and things to do outside of the tour.
We did the tour including blue mosque, hagia sophia, sultans tomb, hippodrome and basilica cisterns. The tour is extraordinary interesting for inter-cultural experience from the ancient to the modern istanbul. The perfectly well prepared schedule suits for beginners. For the ones with background knowledge or deeper interest in specific topics the tour could be personally adjusted on request.
