NOT RECOMMENDED! Even though we got the Planium package (+$40 pp). You are like in a constant rush. 15 to 20 mins to visit Isla Mujeres stores and/or Playa Norte, 3 hr eat buffet (which was flavorless), not enough tables to eat, old chairs that you have to control your balance, we got bitter by ants while eating, beach at the Club House looks more like a pond. They offer a 1 hr tour in golf carts (+$60 of course) during the lunch time. If you take this tour, you have to eat in a rush, since you only have like 30 to 40 mins to eat and the line is long to get food. They take picks of you, and sell them kind of expensive. Loading docks are unsafe, take care of children and elderly so they don't trip.
Hello, our experience was not good; everything was rushed, lunch was very poor, the people on the boat were good until you don't give them the tip they consider sufficient, plus they require us to give per person, not per group. The entertainer humiliated us over the microphone; it was quite an unpleasant time since we were three women alone, and obviously, all the companions celebrated the disrespectful behavior of the entertainer. If you are a woman, do not travel with this company; it was a terrible experience.
Buen día señorita, lamento mucho leer su experiencia, me gustaría me contacte por la web a nuestro whats app, para saber quien fue el marinero que las puso en esta situación que es inaceptable, gracias.
We were recommended this activity by a vendor. From the start, we were told there would only be an additional $10 US fee per person, but once we arrived, it ultimately cost us $40 US for two people. The hosts as well as all the staff on board the catamaran were excellent. The service was truly impeccable and the atmosphere very pleasant. However, if you choose this activity for snorkeling, you may be disappointed. We saw very few fish and the crossing was done very quickly. We felt rushed from start to finish, with little time to truly enjoy the experience. The snorkeling felt more like a sea crossing than a marine observation activity. The stop at Isla Mujeres was, however, very well organized and we appreciated having free time to explore the island at our own pace. In summary, it is a nice activity for the catamaran ride, the atmosphere, and the visit to Isla Mujeres, but I would not recommend it for snorkeling.
Bonjour, j'apprécie votre honnêteté dans votre commentaire ; cependant, le vendeur vous a donné des informations erronées. La taxe portuaire s'élève actuellement à 24 $ US.
Buyer beware: bait and switch & up-sell central! We arranged for a small catamaran snorkeling day tour and were promised no more than 30 people aboard the ship. Upon boarding, we were told the smaller catamaran would not operate that day and we were stuck aboard a boat with >100 people. We were offered upgrades for purchase, but no compensation for the bait and switch. Snorkeling was great - tons of fish and even turtles! The private beach is a joke - the buffet is miserable and there are not nearly enough chairs on the beach for the number of people crammed in. I really would rather have spent 3 hours at our beautiful resort than marooned at this beach. The only respite was a golf cart ride around the island - $60 per cart for a 45-minute ride to see souvenir stands and the Punta Sur park (another additional cost). After 30-minutes of waiting to board the boat, we sailed to the island's main town and walked around more souvenir shops for an hour. Another wait to reboard the boat and we were headed back to Cancun. Along the way we were offered to purchase the pre-boarding photo they had taken (another $20) and were treated to some drinks and tequila along the way (still surprised I didn't get an invoice for the gross tequila they poured into my mouth)! The staff were all super friendly and really did a great job making it a fun adventure. But the bait-and-switch left us disappointed. If you want a small group adventure, get a private tour because this is not for you!
Hi David, I´m so sorry if the person who gives you the informations gives you the wrong one, first our plus service is for boats around 80 to 120 people at the same time, I understand thats the worst of all for you, but you was on the correct boat, for next trips my recommendation, ask on the official pages of the sites you want to visit they said always the right information because is our job, I´m sorry for this bad situation.
I am writing to formally express my serious concern and disappointment regarding a snorkeling excursion I recently participated in during my trip to Cancun, Mexico. What was supposed to be an enjoyable and relaxing experience turned into a stressful and unsafe situation. During the excursion, we were dropped into the water at a significant distance from the boat—what felt like hundreds of feet away, facing choppy waves, and a difficult current. Instead of remaining nearby to ensure our safety, the boat moved even farther away, forcing us to swim aggressively just to keep up. Under these conditions, it was nearly impossible to safely or comfortably snorkel, let alone enjoy the experience we paid for. More importantly, I found this situation to be unsafe, especially for participants who may not be strong swimmers. At no point did I feel adequately supported or supervised by your staff. This experience fell far below reasonable expectations for a guided snorkeling tour, where safety, guidance, and enjoyment should be top priorities. I like to note out that I'm certified open water diver as well as my teenage daughter. I consider this to be my mistake, participating in the excursion, because I didn't take into consideration all the bad reviews on trip advisors, about this company, like always do.
Hi, our trip name is Isla Mujeres, the snorkeling trip is just a spot, and the people who makes should know how to swimm (strong swimmers) we used to have 2 or 3 people with the people swimming, the boat has to be far for security reasons, my apologize but all the tours for isla mujeres has this spot, and is only a spot.
The experience was overall great, with a good team to support the group with drinks, safe travels, etc. We got to enjoy snorkeling, and safe passage to and from Isla Mujeres. I only have one complaint, and thats on a very specific team member named Roberto. This individual had waited until I had stepped off to sight see to try and approach and make moves on my fiance. She let me know he was an outright creep, telling her insanely inappropriate things while I had stepped away for a second. He had tried to advance and make a move which had made things awkward after my fiance told me what had occurred. I would be extremely wary around this person, he’s unprofessional and I hope management does something about him.
Good morning, I´m so concerned to read this, can you send me a message by our web page? to whats app will be better I will give follow up, I need to know the boat name and the date of the tour to make something with Roberto, please contact me.
Our group had high hopes for a fantastic day with this tour group. I would suggest that you look at another option. To begin with when we arrived we were told that we had to upgrade our package to include drinks and water on Isla Mujeres or we would be charged per drink. Fine. Did that. Then we were taken to a waiting area where they sell you towels, etc. This lovely spot is located directly next to the beach for Temptation resort. Kinda awkward sitting there if you are with kids... Once we got on the catamaran, drinks only start after the snorkeling begins. I have done other snorkeling tours and the boat waits while you snorkel so you can get on or off if needed. Not this one. We were told once away, that the boat drops you off, sails away, and you have to swim 400m back to the boat. Too bad, we were really looking forward to that part. No way I was willing to do that part with no boat. They bring you to a shopping destination first with 1 hour to explore, and then back to the boat to the final stop with drinks and buffet. If you are expecting a nice beautiful beach and swimming, think again. It is a marina stop, the water is shallow in the swimming area, smells bad, and the sand in the water is more of a silt or clay. Not the beach you imagine...
Hi Don, I´m so sad to read this, but the snorkeling is just a spot, actually all the companies made the same trip, regarding the beach club we are subject to the weather conditions and unfortunatelly are bad at this season, hope your next visit you have a better experience.
Boat very good. You will be informed once on the Boat only if the snorkel is cancelled. Their private beach is for those who want to do nothing (drink and cook in the sun) with party music. The buffet's fine. I do not recommend for young families unless you take the guided tour (extra charge).
Merci.
I booked a trip on Albatros Catamaran for my birthday 18 February 2026. From their own website, these were the expectations; -- BUFFET: Snack (nachos, pizza, enchiladas, pasta, chicken, risotto, etc.), Tacos (cochinita, Potatoes with chorizo, fried fish, and Mexican beans), Salad bar, dressings, and dessert (fruits, gelatin, and rice pudding). -- OPEN BAR ON BOARD: Rum, vodka, tequila, beer, water, and soft drinks. -- FRESH WATER AND BAR AT BEACH RESTAURANT. -- Bunk beds at beach zone It doesn't say the snorkeling portion is a 400m open water swim. The buffet did NOT have pizza, enchiladas, risotto... I'm not sure if there were tacos. I can tell you the food we were able to find was picked over and cold. The "open bar" was someone coming around with a pitcher. That is not a bar.Fresh water was not bottled water, and sketchy. Back to the start, the loading process was chaotic. None of us knew which boat we were on! We were hurried on board and told to sit in the front for safety instructions. Those instructions never came. We were told about the monument on Isla Mujares and encouraged to rent a golf cart to get there. Then the crew gave us each a personal flotation device with no instruction on how to properly wear the vest. Once we all had one, we were told to hurry to the back of the boat. As we passed the cabin we were handed our mask and snorkel, again without instruction, and told to jump off the back. Hurried again, we had to keep up with the crew leading us in the swim. We didn't know if we were swimming to the snorkeling location, so many of us didn't look down! We were trying to keep the crew leader in site. Back on the boat, they told us we would need to follow the crew leader to get our wristbands. We had paid our $20 dock fee but didn't know what this wristband was about. He were hustled to a storefront, again without instruction, and finally received another wristband. It said the dock fee was $10 MXN. Suspicious! After walking through the downtown area (another awful experience), we got back on the boat for the private beach portion. We arrived to find 200-300 young people partying! There was not a single "bunk bed" or seat at the beach zone. As stated, the food was picked over and cold. The tables were all taken and the chairs were falling apart. Hardly a private beach, we went back to the dock early, along with most of our fellow sailors. Then we were told the pick up location changed. Once again, we were hurried, down the dock, across the beach where we had just come, to another dock. On the boat, every traveler expressed their anger. The crew only said "don't blame us" and asked for tips. The final insult was back at the starting point. The crew docked the boat but is began to drift off the dock so I couldn't safely disembark. My friend noticed and we grasped hands to pull the boat back to the dock. We helped others off without any help from your staff. Start to finish, this was a disaster of trip.
Hi, I´m very worried to read this situation, well the first of all is the menu changes, we have all the food but not at the same time, that´s why you don´t find all the food on the menu, second the snorkeling is a spot, is not the entire tour we just can get there for 30 minutes, the instructions are given all the time when the tour starts, I think the person who gives you the information don´t give you all of this, I´m sure if you knew all of this the experience will be different.
Driver had to change bus two times in our way back to hotel. Snorkeling tour was very unorganized. My first and definitely my last time with them
Hi, I´m so sorry, to read this, we have a problem with the transfer that day it was not an usual situaton, regarding the snorkeling, all the companies make the snorkeling at the same place, that´s why, but we have a different kind of tours to isla mujeres, if you contact our web they can give you options.
