Willkommen in einem der größten und lebendigsten Schlösser Europas. Das Schloss ist die offizielle Residenz S.M. des Königs und wesentliche Teile der Repräsentation der Monarchie finden hier statt, während große Teile des Schlosses ganzjährig geöffnet sind. Der Königspalast von Stockholm liegt in Gamla Stan oder der Altstadt und verfügt über mehr als 1.400 Zimmer, 11 Stockwerke und nur 1 Balkon. Der Palast ist auch die größte offizielle königliche Residenz in Europa, sogar größer als der Buckingham Palace in London. Hier gibt es viele Sehenswürdigkeiten – die Schatzkammer mit den königlichen Insignien, das Museum Drei Kronen über die mittelalterliche Geschichte der Burg und nicht zuletzt die Repräsentationsetagen mit den pompösen Paraderäumen. In den Sommermonaten sind auch das Antikenmuseum von Gustav III. und die Schlosskirche geöffnet. Die Wachablösung ist bei Besuchern beliebt, ebenso wie der Laden Slottsboden.

Im Stil des italienischen Barock erbaut und mit seiner Innenausstattung überwiegend im Stil des Rokoko, gilt der Königspalast als eines der bedeutendsten Bauwerke des Barock in Europa. Hier befinden sich die Büros des königlichen Hofes sowie das Schatzmuseum, das Rüstkammermuseum, das Tre-Kronor-Museum und das Museum für Altertümer Gustav III.

Excellent tour of the Palace with a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Avoided the crowds and learned so much with this private tour.
