Inka Trail 4 - Tageswanderung nach Machu Picchu – Rückkehr mit dem Vistadome Zug

Our tour guides were Ricardo and Jose and our chef with Michal. Overall we had a fantastic experience. Ricardo and Jose went above and beyond to educate us on the history of the Quechua and Incan people. They provide good conversation and put safety first on the mountains at all times. The food was fantastic throughout our trip.

The overall experience was excellent. You could not fault the organisation and logistics from the initial briefing, throughout the trek and at the end as we headed back to Cusco. The guides Elisban, Marco and Walter were great. The porters had everything organised really well at both lunch and at the camp. The chefs provided a good choice of meals and even laid on a birthday cake for one of the group. The guides were very attentive and motivational. They knew all the best photo spots (taking time to ensure everyone had some great photos to take away) and were really informative about Peru generally regarding the Andean culture and geopolitics.

Amazing experience on the Inca Trail. Fascinating and insightful guides Javier A and Romario took good care of us and the porter and chef team were incredible. In my opinion, Alpaca Expeditions presents excellent value for money as well as being transparent on fair pay.

Amazing 4-day trek with breathtaking views of the valley and the Inca sites along the way! Absolutely worth the price, everything was well planned by Alpaca, the food was amazing when you think of how hard it must be to cook in these conditions (thanks to Fabian our chef), and our 2 guides Romario and Javier were always attentive to our needs. Javier’s English was impeccable and he knew how to make us forget about the tough hike by cracking jokes all the time. Had a great time, 100% recommend (trekking poles HIGHLY recommended)

I’ve always been a history buff, so when I decided to visit Peru I planned my trip around completing the Inca Trail. The guides were exceptional both in organization and in historical knowledge (shoutout Javier and Romario!), not to mention great at keeping morale high. The chef, Fabien, was excellent and I always looked forward to the meals, and the rest of the team of porters were amazing as well. Additionally, all of the other fifteen hikers were super friendly and I feel very lucky to have had such a fun and positive group for the trek. Alpaca Expeditions was also very accommodating when it came to some last minute hostel changes. Overall, the experience was amazing and I would definitely recommend it for other solo travelers!

Alpaca were brilliant and would definitely recommend booking through them if you are looking into a maccu piccu trek. Saul G, Umberto were amazing guides and made the whole experience seamless. We had Segundino as the head chef and the food was unbelievable considering it is prepared in remote areas!

The Inca trail was incredible, which is partly a testament to the Incas and their incredible architecture, buildings and mountains. But, what made it truly special was Ivan our guide, who was an absolute legend and his love for the trek and mountains was so awesome! Exceeded my expectations! And the team of porters were awesome, redefined hard work and humility! The food, friendliness and haste meant that the trip felt more like glamping than a 4 day hike!

We had an incredible time on the 4-day Inca Trail with Alpaca Expeditions! Javi and Benjamin were fantastic guide, friendly, funny, knowledgeable, and always making sure everyone was doing well. They shared so much about the history and culture, kept the group motivated, and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Everything was so well organized, the food was amazing, and we felt looked after from start to finish. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. My friend and I did this trek on July 18th 2026 and it was one of the coolest experiences of my life. The reason I had such a wonderful time was all due to the staff that was involved from the chef, our server the chaskis and especially the guides. I was so fortunate to have gotten Ivan and Yardida as my guides they were amazing, kind, supportive and made us laugh the whole way I couldn’t have asked for better guides if you are lucky enough to get these 2 you are in good hands! They worked incredibly hard to make sure everyone had the best time and I’m thankful for everything they did. Mucho awesome would 100% recommended to anyone who’s thinking about it!!
