The guide only showed houses in one neighborhood of the city, didn't stop to take photos, didn't show the main attractions of the city which were in the center and the service was very expensive
We have not given a Custom Atlanta Private Tour this year. I am sure this was not our customer.
We enjoyed our tour and both were very knowledgeable. They tailored the trip to what we wanted to see and made it exciting.
Thank you for choosing DTours! We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review.
Chris was my tour guide for this 3-hour tour, "From the Civil War to Civil Rights" (it was not on the list to choose from, just the VIP tour, which I did NOT do.) I've lived in Metro Atlanta for 28 years and, other than for some events, have rarely been downtown. Some of the things that Chris showed me had been there prior to that, but I wasn't even aware of them (like Ansley Park right behind Peachtree Street.) I was also not aware of Cabbage Town, Inman Park, and the Krog Street Tunnel, nor had I been to Little Five Points before. In fact, I didn't even know there was a regular Five Points and a Little Five Points! There were many new buildings and areas I had not realized had changed so significantly. A lot of new structures were present. There were many areas I had previously visited, and the new construction amazed me. Because of the weather (cold and rainy), we stayed in the car, and Chris drove to extra locations including Atlanta Station and he explained about its history. Since I live here, I can always revisit places that interested me. Altogether a great way to discover more of the local area I live in.
Thank you for such a thorough review! We're thrilled that Chris was able to show you more of your hometown!
Atlanta was a great get-a-way during the Thanksgiving holiday. If you grew up during the Civil Rights era or just want an undiluted education on what really happened during that time, go to the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. They showed a great film. Now, the film was in terrible condition and I have written several letters/emails to the appropriate people shaming them on the poor audio quality of the film (horrendous buzzing) but the film was powerful and moving as was the museum. It was cool to see Ebenezer Baptist church and the surrounding neighborhood. This was ground zero for a lot of important civil rights events and leaders. I learned so much more than I did from my public education. MLK and his wife are also buried across from the museum. We chose not to take a formal tour and did our own thing. There are many great restaurants in Atlanta some historically tied to the civil rights movement while others are more indicative of Atlanta's growth and maturity. The Aquarium was a great experience. Definitely select a down time to go in order to enjoy the full experience. The Coca Cola museum was fun. We really enjoyed the High Museum of Art. It is worth a 2-3 hour visit. The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library was also worth the visit. You see the context of his presidency within American history, what he accomplished and his lingering impact. in terms of hotels, I would encourage boutique hotels and stay away from the Hilton and Marriott. Consider taking the Marta train from the airport to your hotel - it's fast, very affordable, convenient, and much more interesting than an expensive taxi ride. The Botanical Gardens were still experiencing some Fall foliage and strolling through the park was very relaxing and a beautiful experience. If you do a Spring visit, this is a must! The CNN building was disappointing as it has not re-opened its stores/operations since COVID. On a future visit, I would probably do the zoo, Stone Mountain (during a down time), and the Capitol building downtown. There are many cool parks- Centennial is the easiest because there is so much around the site but, there are many others to choose from. Mary Mac's Tea Room was very good and represents true southern cuisine. The service and food quality were excellent during Thanksgiving week.

Dan was a great guide. He tailored our tour to what each person would like. Three hours went by much too quickly. We loved our tour!
Dan was a great guide. Very interesting. Definitely loves and knows Atlanta. Would like to take specialty tours in the future and learn more from him.
Dan was punctual, patient and knowledgeable. The tour was a unique blend of Atlanta history and Walking Dead/Marvel trivia. We enjoyed it thoroughly and are planning to utilize his services for our trip to Savannah.
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your tour and we hope to see you in Savannah as well!
We were driven all over the historic district. Our guide was knowledgeable, and we stopped frequently for pictures. Learned a lot of esoteric facts we did not know.
I enjoyed meeting you both. Glad you learned something new :)
