Great informative tour, walking on some uneven ground but guide took it slow and made sure everyone stayed together. More food than expected but was excellent with several small stops along the way.
Long overdue review of an excellent town tour! We were in port for an entire day on a B2B cruise so we booked this excursion for 29 Mar 26. Unfortunately, our guide was ill that day so the owner put my husband and I with her for a food tasting tour with another couple. No extra charge! Connecting up was exactly as described in the instructions. Don’t hesitate–you will see and learn a lot about this overlooked little city. Paola and her partner, Salvatore, took superb care of us. They are passionate about showing their town off and they go above and beyond!
My wife and I were on a Viking cruise and stops included Civitavecchia. We had never been here before and since we had been to Rome many times we decided to spend the day in Civitavecchia. We booked this History and Food tour of about three hours on our own since Viking did not offer a local tour. Tania was our guide. It was a wonderful tour, she was excellent and Civit. is a fascinating city, it is a shame it is overlooked since it is worth at least a day's time to experience.

I just finished my "Food Tasty and History Tour" of Civitavecchia with Roberta as the guide. I enjoyed her explanation of the history of the town and the chance to have stops in several places sampling things unique to Civitavecchia. I now know that this is not just the port for Rome, but it is a fascinating city with a rich heritage. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and recommend it.

We did a city tour the day prior to our cruise. Raf was our tour guide and provided us with a plethora of history and information and completely entertained us. The food choices were good and completely satisfied our appetites. This is an excellent option if you do not want to spend the day in Rome.

We had a wonderful tour with Rafaella during our afternoon in Civitavecchia before we boarded our cruise ship. During our comfortable walk around town we visited several locations and learned about the history and architecture of the area. What a wonderful tour of an absolutely charming city. Natalina, our guide was very informative and efficient! She was very knowledgeable and showed a passion for the history of this ancient city. I can’t believe how much we were able to see in the span of 2 1/2 hours. While many people understandably flock to Rome, they’ll miss out on this little jewel of a city.
