This was an excellent trip and fabulous way of going to Dendera Temple rather than driving by coach/taxi. The main issue is that there is nothing to eat until lunch time. This means you are starving until 1:30, then you get afternoon tea within an hour and half of that. This would be a 100% trip if they simply had pastries and tea as you board.
Great boat, wonderful staff, and liveky lunch. Amazing trip down the Nile and Dendara was my favorite temple yet. Boat was comfortable, chilled snd relaxing..,and fellow passenger's were great. Highly recommended!
We booked this trip once we were settled in our hotel for a 10 night stay. We were lucky to have a light breakfast before getting our taxi to the berth. the voyage down river was fantastic, so much to see. A quick bus trip to the Temple and an excellent guide meant we were ready for lunch which was very good. Travelling back to Luxor was fun too though tea served so soon after all the desserts at lunch was rather weird. Sunset in a rural part and Luxor after dark made the trip nearly perfect. A light breakfast and maybe a drink and canapes an hour before disembarking instead of tea would make it unbeatable.
We have an amazing 2 weeks staying ' the Iberotel Hotel Luxor (Subject to a seperate review). Whilst there we really wanted to do this day trip as it is an amazing way to see the temple @ dendera and not worry about being in a bus for hours. The whole trip was fantastic. We were met as we went onboard the boat like friends. The boat was clean and tidy. The staff could not do enough for us. There were more than enough chairs and loungers for everyone whether you wanted full sun or shade like us. When we got off the boat it was a very short bus ride to the temple. Our guide was very good and informative. Like most days out there was a certain amount of keeping to a schedule but not enough to spoil the day. Back on the boat was a buffet lunch. This was a great meal and more than enough feed all of us on the trip 3 times over. One thing in egypt, you will never go hungry. It was fantastic to move along the nile at a smooth pace. Where ever you looked there was something new to see and photograph. We enjoyed the trip so much we did it twice and did the visit to the temple at our pace. We would both recommend the trip. Thank you for the team on the boat and the team in the hotel.
Great boat trip. The boat was very nice and comfortable. The cruise was relaxing. There was only 25 people on it. The temple guide Ahmed was so knowledgeable and engaging. The temple is stunning. The buffet lunch was good. No drinks were included at all unfortunately. Sadly they didn’t serve any food until after the temple at 2pm so if you havent had breakfast (like us), you will be hungry as you can’t buy any food on board. Then strangely after a huge buffet lunch (including dessert), they served a huge selection of pastries an hour or so later after every one was full up. It didn’t make sense. It would’ve been much better to offer pastries in the morning (9ish) with free tea and coffee, rather than after the big buffet lunch. It seemed a bit illogical. A great day though.
This is a terrible experience, I had to be at the hotel at 7.00 AM and the trip was cancelled without any notice!!! Terrible experience, please refund my money and also the cost of the two taxis to get here!!!
This trip has been excellent from start to finish ...Great Staff ..lovely food....beautiful boat...The scenery and the temple stunning...The best Pina Colada ever!! I cannot recommend this enough...everyone should do this 12 hour trip ...I certainly will again next year !!!
Excellent way to spend a day on the Nile and visit the stunning Temple of Hathor at Dendera. A lovely boat with excellent service from the friendly and helpful crew. The relaxing journeys sitting on the sun deck, provided the chance to see local life pass by, and a beautiful sunset. The Temple itself is really worth visiting, although as with all temples we could have spent more time there than we had. Highly recommend this trip.
This trip down the Nile from Luxor to Dendera was a dream of a day!! Met the boat at the Iberotel and headed down river to Dendera for a visit to the temple. After the temple visit we had lunch on board as we set off back to Luxor arriving back early evening. It was truly a dream of a day with wonderful staff on the boat, we had great service all day - particularly from Mohammed who looked after us so well. The lunch was a beautifully cooked and presented hot and cold buffet with so much choice! Afternoon tea was served and small plates of fruit were brought round for us too. This day out is worth every penny and we would do it again! If you want a day away from the hustle and bustle of Luxor this is a must do!
The day trip to Dendera was brilliant! From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Well organized: 10 hours on the Nile - 2 hours in Dendera! This is the temple, 50 km north of Luxor, which is not part of the standard program. PREMIUM ship - top renovated with lots of extras. Luxurious seating, small pool, strong WiFi. Best sanitary facilities including shower. Private bus in Dendera. German-speaking guide in the temple! Everything was top notch! Very good quality lunch buffet - and then the trip towards the sunset. Simply brilliant! There were 10 of us on board and we were able to enjoy the trip to the fullest. Apart from the drinks on the ship, ALL costs are included!! An excursion that should not be missed. Can be booked at the Iberotel Luxor.
