We had the most amazing day and were lucky enough to see two humpback whales breaching together. Dom our tour guide and boat operator/owner is a lovely informative person. He was able to seek out the most active pod of whales. We also saw a seal and dolphins. The price is very reasonable and two hours was a good length of time. The boat size is ideal. Not too many people on board which helped create a more personal and peaceful atmosphere.

My wife and I travelled from the Central Coast for a whale watching tour with Dom and his mate. They were both really friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We went on the 9:00 AM tour and spent around two hours out at sea. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a clear view of the whales, so we came back feeling a bit disappointed. But Dom didn’t want us to miss out and kindly offered us a second tour at no extra cost. The second trip was absolutely worth it! We saw so many whales, including several jumping out of the water. It was such an amazing experience and we had so much fun. A big thank you to Dom for going the extra mile to make sure we had a great experience. If you’re thinking about going whale watching, I highly recommend booking with them!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We went on the whale watching tour with Dom and couldn’t have been more impressed. From the booking process through to returning safely to the mooring, everything was professional, well organised and enjoyable. Dom is a fantastic skipper and guide. His passion for the Port of Newcastle, its history, and the annual whale migration really shone through. He shared so much interesting information throughout the trip, making it both educational and entertaining. Seeing these magnificent whales up close as they made their way north was an unforgettable experience. Combined with the breathtaking views of Newcastle’s coastline, it really makes you appreciate how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful part of the world. A huge thank you to Dom for an outstanding afternoon on the water. We highly recommend this tour to both locals and visitors – we’ll definitely be back!

It was the most Amazing experience out amongst the whales. The staff were so friendly & knowledgeable & certainly knew what they were doing to find the whales. Cannot recommend Coast XP highly enough

Absolutely incredible experience that we will never forget! We didn’t anticipate to see so many whales, let alone how close they came up! A fun and relaxed tour, our guide was so passionate and stoked to be there and the rest of the team were great! Would highly recommend.

Amazing! It was incredible to see so many whales!! However…the trio would not have been as wonderful were it not for Dominic. Dominic is an operator who clearly has a passion for what he does. He is also very knowledgeable regards the history and highlights of Newcastle’s shore, sharing with us some very interesting information. The boat itself is very comfortable also. All up- I would rate it a solid 10 and will be returning as well as highly recommending CoastEp.

The day we booked and service around booking was excellent . The small group I was in had high expectations. The loan wind cheater option felt worth the price. A deep historical context of landmarks both colonial and indigenous was incredibly well delivered. The views back towards the city superb. Then we lucked in for an hour long whale breaching humpback performance words do not succinctly describe . Veteran guides with faces bathed in gratitude and childish glee. Respectful of the animals yet appreciative of the shared special experience. The return trip after showing of the southern beaches was so bliss filled with the water , sun and wind . This tour only has a low on board capacity so it felt so intimate and personalised as well
